Ford Edge 2009 4-door SUV
Trim Shown: Sport Utility
The Edge is a car-based SUV that uses the previous generation Mazda6 platform and shares components with the Lincoln MKX. The powertrain is a 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is available. The Edge doesn't offer a third-row seat like the family-oriented Ford Flex. The ride is good, and the powertrain is quite strong, but it lacks refinement. The Edge isn't particularly agile, but handling is ultimately secure. Interior fit and finish is unimpressive. IIHS crash-test results are commendable.
