It happened on both the driver and front passenger door. We were able to have it corrected via our Ford Dealer, but it did take about a month before they were able to get the correct part ordered and then installed."

We have discussed it with our Ford dealer as well as others and know that it is due to the type of paint and the type of aluminum the hood is made out of. This is annoying and we are talking with several different auto paint specialists to see what can be done. Other than that we are very happy with our Explorer and will likely get another one with it comes time to replace our Edge."

Thing about it without a fight. I love my Explorer except for the hood problem. I've owned and loved Fords all my life but I'm so pissed about how they've ducked their responsibility to address this defect that I may look at other brands when it's time to replace this vehicle."

Car was still under warranty so dealership fixed....concern is if other parts of the vehicle start to peel after it is out of warranty."
