The F-350 is a heavy-duty truck with a 1-ton capacity as opposed to the 1/2 ton of the F-150. The Super Duty line was redesigned for 2005 with new exterior and revised engines. The ride is stiff and bouncy, especially compared to the F-150. Ford's 6.0-liter turbodiesel packs some real punch and is fairly quiet and free of vibration. Stepping into the cabin is more difficult because of the high floor.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"vehicle is big and needs a lot of room to park."

Anonymous, IN (2012 Ford F-350)

"I tow heavy equipment (tractors and farm equip) and cattle. This is by far the best tow vehicle (Pickup) ever made. It can make a pro out of an idiot! This truck is the BEST! I dislike the DEF cleaning system on any truck. Waste of fuel!"

HARRY L., TN (2012 Ford F-350)

"The diesel has enormous torque and hp so acceleration is similar to my Lexus sc400! Very satisfied in this department. Yes large turning radius but again it is a crew cab."

STU W., BC (2012 Ford F-350)

"I pull a 15,000 # 5th wheel trailer. The truck does an overall great job of handling the weight. Overall it is a great truck; best I have ever owned!"

TIM T., CA (2012 Ford F-350)

"Bouncy vibration when driving highway speed on concrete highways and interstates."

GENE T., ID (2012 Ford F-350)

"It steps out crisply if you floor it and the ride is firm without being harsh. I like the way it corners without leaning."

SCOTT H., WA (2012 Ford F-350)

"I tow a large 5th wheel RV. The diesel engine and transmission are perfectly matched for the job. This is the best truck I have ever owned! Particularly like the engine braking for long and steep downhill runs."

Anonymous, AZ (2012 Ford F-350)

"Truck has plenty of power. And, gets good mileage."

JOHN S., CA (2012 Ford F-350)

"Ample power (diesel) for acceleration even when loaded with camper or pulling a trailer. Ride is surprisingly good for a 13,500 GVW rating. Handling is about what one would expect on a heavy 1 ton pickup."

ROBERT P., AK (2012 Ford F-350)

"Great for hauling heavy loads; great power and acceleration."

Anonymous, TX (2012 Ford F-350)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"I find the seats to be quite comfortable, however I always use a after market back support in all my vehicles."

CARLTON B., SD (2012 Ford F-350)

"Leather seats, heated and cooling, easy to clean, multiple adjustments. Noise and ride are acceptable since it is an f350 The 6.7 diesel gets excellant fuel mileage.Only routine r&m. I have 88000 km.many pulling a trailer .Even then I obtain a 17.3l/100km"

STU W., BC (2012 Ford F-350)

"Bouncy vibrating ride on concrete highways. Drivers seat is too high on the lowest position and does not give enough head room with the moon roof."

GENE T., ID (2012 Ford F-350)

"The ride is the best of any truck we have owned. the leather seats that are heated and cooled are wonderful and the seats fit you well."
