Includes acceleration and handling
What Owners Say
"The turning radius for the Fusion is substandard. Almost all of my previous cars--which includes a station wagon!--had a better turn."
Bryan G., CA (2017 Ford Fusion)"Very slow pick up. Engine not strong enough."
Anonymous, MD (2017 Ford Fusion)"Responds well. Easy to maneuver."
Anonymous, KS (2017 Ford Fusion)"Great gas mileage for a larger car -- can get 30 mpg on highway trips. Acceleration is very good when needed. Handling is good -- does not wallow in turns like some larger sedans"
Anonymous, TN (2017 Ford Fusion)"acceleration is a little slow but handles well. smooth ride."
Anonymous, FL (2017 Ford Fusion)"2.0 turbo. VG acceleration and handling. It’s a fun to drive car."
Paul S., OH (2017 Ford Fusion)"good acceleration and handles very well, i enjoy driving this car."
Anonymous, ON (2017 Ford Fusion)"good"
Anonymous, SK (2017 Ford Fusion)"Accelerates and corners well."
Anonymous, NH (2017 Ford Fusion)"Outstanding performance on acceleration and power. Handling better than expected. Very happy. Automatic shifts snappier than paddle shifters, but that is a low bar. Sport mode very entertaining and useful in traffic as well as twisters. Too bad ford is going out of sedan business, this is a gem and a sleeper."
Anonymous, OH (2017 Ford Fusion)"Plenty of power, good turning radius, comfortable"
Anonymous, AZ (2017 Ford Fusion)"0-60 in 5.1, if you use 93 premium"
Anonymous, IL (2017 Ford Fusion)"One of the most underrated sports sedans. Make sure to out on summer tires and you have a vehicle easily competing with MB, BMW, Audi in handling and comfort"
Anonymous, NJ (2017 Ford Fusion)"good power for fuel usage."
Tom Y., MI (2017 Ford Fusion)"The car is actually the Platinum model, but that wasn't an option you gave. Other than AWD, it has every available and conceivable feature, including cooled seats. It's basically a Lincoln that cost less. It a beautiful car, inside and out. Drives, handles, and accelerates well. Very pleased with it. Looks bigger than a mid-sixed car. Balck w/ tan pinstriping. Received many favorable comments."
Andrew T., OH (2017 Ford Fusion)"I am glad that the feature when at a stop "the engine" shuts off to save gas can be TURNED OFF. I find the use of that irritating and dangerous."
Mindy L., CA (2017 Ford Fusion)"Drives great. Many safety features for driving ie adaptive speed control, lane guidance etc"
Anonymous, NY (2017 Ford Fusion)"Acceleration is fine using the gas engine. Handling is excellent, more like a European car."
Kenneth H., NC (2017 Ford Fusion)"Very smooth ride and accelerates well."
Anonymous, TX (2017 Ford Fusion)"Handling is very good, especially for a car that wasn't necessarily made for sporty driving. If I had been the designer, I would have given this car stronger electric motors for more responsive electric-only acceleration, but if you want to get-up-and-go, all you need do is push down on the gas... it will go."
Anonymous, TN (2017 Ford Fusion)"adaptive cruise control"
Anonymous, NY (2017 Ford Fusion)"Very sporty. Acceleration and handling are both excellent."
Anonymous, OH (2017 Ford Fusion)"The Fusion drives and handles extremely well, especially in cornering and braking, and steering feedback. And it does not sacrifice ride comfort for such nimble handling."
Anonymous, NJ (2017 Ford Fusion)"performance and handling are excellent with the Sport turbo model"
Anonymous, CO (2017 Ford Fusion)"Occasionally there is a delay in accelerating, most often from a stop but sometimes when accelerating to pass a vehicle."
Anonymous, MI (2017 Ford Fusion)"When driving long distances on toll roads, I feel safe and comfortable. I do all the driving. Do not easily get tired."
Anonymous, VA (2017 Ford Fusion)"This car drives like a sports car with amazing acceleration and handling. I owned a Mustang GT and this car is a grown up version. I love it."
Anonymous, MN (2017 Ford Fusion)"Very quick steering response; more rapid acceleration than I had anticipated but very useful in merging traffic"
Anonymous, MB (2017 Ford Fusion)"Its a bigger car then I am used to, but I think it does very. I don't need more pick up, it does what I need."
Reed B., FL (2017 Ford Fusion)"very good acceleration if needed. Excellent turning radius. Good braking . comfortale"
Marshall G., CA (2017 Ford Fusion)"This car accelerates when I want it to accelerate. The handling is easy."
Janet W., CT (2017 Ford Fusion)"excellent car to drive, handles very well with all wheel drive summer and winter in the snow."
Anonymous, NY (2017 Ford Fusion)"I like the way the 2017 Ford Fusion handles. I chose this car based on three criteria that were important to me. 1) the car is flat towable behind our RV. That feature is really great. It took some special training from the Ford folks at Weikert to train us to use that feature, but once we knew the process, flat towing is great!!! 2) The safety features of the car--lane control, emergency braking, adaptive speed control, blind spot indicator. We bought the Platinum model as it has all of those features. We think the safety features help us be safer. 3) Fuel efficiency. I am a bit disappointed in the mpg. We routinely get between 34 and 38 mpg, not the advertised 42 or 43. In any case, the fuel efficiency on the Fusion doubles what we were getting in our SUVs."
Anonymous, FL (2017 Ford Fusion)"Even tho it's a hybrid it's peppy and really sticks to the road."
Anonymous, WV (2017 Ford Fusion)"It is fun to drive and handles beautifully. Excellent driving experience with very acceptable fuel economy (close to 30 mpg on trips). It is reasonably quite, though I would like it even quieter."
Anonymous, MI (2017 Ford Fusion)"With the 2.0 liter engine, this car is peppy and really steps out. It's also quiet compared to the standard engine. Handling is a high point and comparable to VW Passat - top of the class! Tight turning radius is excellent in city driving."
William H., TX (2017 Ford Fusion)"I have the Fusion Sport and it accelerates very well as well as having good handling"
Harry C., IL (2017 Ford Fusion)"Good low end acceleration (but 0-60 is average for this type of car). The CVT transmission is great at highway speeds and quiet once it finds the right ratio. Handling is nimble."
Anonymous, MA (2017 Ford Fusion)"Hybrids are not user friendly Idon't like the emergency brake, Gear shift."
Darrell C., CA (2017 Ford Fusion)"The acceleration, although not exactly jack rabbit, is more than adequate and better than I expected given the gas mileage I get. The steering is precise and cornering is almost sport car like. One of the best handling cars I’ve driven."
Raymond M., WA (2017 Ford Fusion)"There is a hesitation when attempting to accelerate from 30 mph to faster speeds, The dealer test rode the car when I complained and said it performed normally. I have to floor the accelerator in order to make that acceleration. It may be the way “turbo‿ reacts. I never had a turbo car before."
Joel A., FL (2017 Ford Fusion)"good for both acceleration and handling"
Timothy M., OH (2017 Ford Fusion)"Slow, sluggish & slow to accelerate."
Anonymous, NV (2017 Ford Fusion)"It does not have the acceration of a Tesla, but the electric motor provides instant torque. It handles curves nicely, but would be better with a stiffer suspension."
Anthony S., CA (2017 Ford Fusion)"The engine turns off at lights, which saves on gas big-time. Acceleration is always adequate to the occasion. In slow traffic, it can run on electric-only."
Curtis S., FL (2017 Ford Fusion)"Excellent acceleration & handling!"
Stephen A., CA (2017 Ford Fusion)"jerky acceleration"
Peter R., CO (2017 Ford Fusion)"The V-6 twin turbo flies, and realtime active suspension dampening make this car a blast to drive!"
David M., CO (2017 Ford Fusion)"Handles well and great acceleration when needed."
Anonymous, MI (2017 Ford Fusion)"rides and handles very good fun to drive"
Anonymous, MI (2017 Ford Fusion)"excellent acceleration, tight turning ratio, external noise (including road noise) is fairly low"
Bruce H., FL (2017 Ford Fusion)"Good response tomaccelerator, easy to steer"
Anonymous, ME (2017 Ford Fusion)"The car is a plug in hybrid with just okay acceleration."
Michael M., CA (2017 Ford Fusion)"Handles well at speed, and is very comfortable on highway. Engine has power when turbo kicks in, but the combination of a transmission that always tries to gain MPG and an engine with a bit of turbo-lag means some delay in acceleration unless one downshifts manually with paddle shifters. Not horrible, just a hesitation unless you plan for acceleration. CHoosing the "S" mode for manual shifting can help this."
Anonymous, NY (2017 Ford Fusion)"Smooth ride, very responsive acceleration"
Thomas A., NY (2017 Ford Fusion)"In "standard" shifting mode, acceleration is mediocre. In performance mode it is much better, but you must change it manually. I really like the collision avoidance and other safety features. Wish the headlamps were brighter."
Anonymous, MN (2017 Ford Fusion)"Fun to drive great power just all around fun car"
Anonymous, SD (2017 Ford Fusion)"The hybrid shifts smoothly from gas engine to electric motor. It handles well and gets great gas mileage."
Brett G., AZ (2017 Ford Fusion)"Great excelleration in full electric. It handles very well and is enjoyable to drive. It is very quiet drive, no road noice"
Anonymous, WA (2017 Ford Fusion)"Excellent power and acceleration especially while towing my 5th wheel RV"
Christopher M., FL (2017 Ford Fusion)"The 2.5 engine has power loss on steep hills.curves, ie: mountain driving."
Patrick W., BC (2017 Ford Fusion)"The mileage i get with combined plug in and gasoline is wonderful. I get 82 MPG on the average. Many days I need to gas at all...just electricity from the grid. charging at night I pal;y pay about $0.05/kWh. Driving is almost free."
Gordon K., TX (2017 Ford Fusion)"It feels like a V6, and much smoother than other turbo 4 cylinder cars in the same class. The car is fun to drive yet does not give way to comfort as other cars do. I have owned several Audi A6's in the past, and this feels and drives like a budget Audi."
David Z., IN (2017 Ford Fusion)"Very quick throttle response."
R M., OH (2017 Ford Fusion)"Strong acceleration Excellent handling, grip and predictability. No surprises. However, engine can surge at low speeds."
Stephen S., NY (2017 Ford Fusion)"Considering all traits that makes a car a good handler, this car surpasses any car I have ever owned. This includes sport cars and performance sedans. The twin-turbo V-6 provides exceptional acceleration. It does come with mpg penalties if I am too enthusiastic."
N C., CA (2017 Ford Fusion)"It is a very zippy and agile car while having a very comfortable ride. It is fun to drive and instills confidence in all weather conditions."
Martin G., PA (2017 Ford Fusion)"Acceleration and handling are acceptable or better. Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Change Monitor have never worked consistently and Ford is uninterested in fixing."
Arthur C., MD (2017 Ford Fusion)"Due to the combination of electric motor and small gas engine, the acceleration is a tad anemic. But I knew that going in and bought the car for the interior styling and size. I have no trouble merging at highway speeds, but I've had other cars that are faster."
Bronson B., GA (2017 Ford Fusion)"Great acceleration and handling"
Anonymous, MS (2017 Ford Fusion)"Economist does a great job of immediately accelerating the engine when needed."
Roger D., IN (2017 Ford Fusion)"The cruse controls on the steering wheel are hard to use and require taking eyes off the road to use. I find this very dangerous to use while driving!"
Richard M., IA (2017 Ford Fusion)"This car is fun to drive - accelerates quickly and has sporty handling. Plus I still think that it's the best looking car in its class."
Anonymous, IN (2017 Ford Fusion)"Outstanding acceleration, reasonable mileage considering the engine (2.7 litre twin turbo 325 hp). Excellent handling - with snow tires feels like winter doesn't exist out there. Steering is excellent and positive."
Bedford P., AB (2017 Ford Fusion)"I have a problem at intersections when looking to the right. The roof support at the right front blocks my view at about 200 to 500 feet."
Bill B., IL (2017 Ford Fusion)"very quick off the mark, and handles extremely well."
Jerome S., MI (2017 Ford Fusion)"quick off the line, hugs the road in curves"
Anonymous, MI (2017 Ford Fusion)"I like the quick acceleration as very helpful in many situations and I do not mean racing!!!!!!The handling is easy excellent"
Chuck B., FL (2017 Ford Fusion)"Style and performance."
Anonymous, MI (2017 Ford Fusion)"Great driving experience. Tons of power. Fun to drive."
Anonymous, HI (2017 Ford Fusion)"body styling handling"
Anonymous, WA (2017 Ford Fusion)"I have the Sport model and it accelerates well and effortlessly. It also handles very well, although you can feel its size. The downside to its power and acceleration is its fuel economy. It is more boost than eco."
Harry C., IL (2017 Ford Fusion)"The sport handles very well and accelerates quickly, no turbo lag"
Louis G., IL (2017 Ford Fusion)"Car is very powerful and a joy to drive."
Anonymous, NY (2017 Ford Fusion)"The power & torque are just plain awesome! The handling is impeccable."
Anonymous, WI (2017 Ford Fusion)"The acceleration is a little sluggish but car drives great"
Anonymous, OH (2017 Ford Fusion)
"Handling is good. Acceleration below 30 mph is good. Acceleration at highway speeds is anemic especially on a uphill grade."
G S., NY (2017 Ford Fusion)
