What Owners Say
"Acceleration and steering"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Ford Fusion)"Fairly good driving and handling. Acceleration is slower"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Ford Fusion)"It drives and handles excellent due to improvements made over the 2016 I also own. I can definitely tell a difference in the two vehicles. Mainly because of the engine, the 2.5 L versus the 1.5 L Eco-boost. The Eco-boost is far superior in performance and handling"
Thomas L., TN (2018 Ford Fusion)"very smooth & peppy for a small engine, 1.5ltr. like the autostop feature"
Anonymous, WI (2018 Ford Fusion)"very smooth transition from gas to electric and visa versa. Plenty of power with amazing economy."
Gary M., CA (2018 Ford Fusion)"It is almost totally gutless in the acceleration department. Put pedal to floor and....nothing much happens."
Karl S., WA (2018 Ford Fusion)"Full electric mode and thoughtfulness of the various automated systems and their responsiveness"
Anonymous, WA (2018 Ford Fusion)"Acceleration is much better than I expected from a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, and is plenty for this type of car. Car handles very well for a sedan."
Anonymous, NC (2018 Ford Fusion)"The steering is very good and maneuvering the car around is fun."
Anonymous, AZ (2018 Ford Fusion)"mileage; 45 is average, but I get 50 or more mpg frequently depending on weather and road conditions"
Anonymous, OH (2018 Ford Fusion)"Good acceleration, can easily follow the traffic on highways. No difficulty on small roads. I don't try to use it as a sport car !"
Anonymous, QC (2018 Ford Fusion)"very slow acceleration. Ride and handling are not good in this model"
David A., NY (2018 Ford Fusion)"Great acceleration"
Miriam C., NM (2018 Ford Fusion)"The Fusion is a plug hybrid, I get 22 miles on electric. It is cool, completely silent and smooth. I LOVE the 100% electric mode. I average 110 MPG gas+electric and I only fill up once every 3 weeks. The handling is on par with better sports cars. On the down side, the overall 0 to 60 performance is mediocre because the car tries to stay in electric mode and not use the gas engine. There is a 2 second lag when you stomp on the gas hard waiting for the gas motor to start."
Richard R., NY (2018 Ford Fusion)"Vehicle has a nice ride and acceleration and handling is good. Turn radius is good and it handles nicely on curvy roads, etc. There is little lag for the turbo to kick in when you punch it but you get used to that quickly."
Anonymous, MD (2018 Ford Fusion)"very pleased with the responsiveness of the Fusion. Acceleration from stoplights and on-ramps is smooth and quiet. Braking quick and smooth (granted, it's a new car, new tires, new brakes, but coming to a quick stop was easily done)."
Jay H., DE (2018 Ford Fusion)"SMALL ENGINE STILL HAS GOOD POWER TO PASS!"
Kevin R., SC (2018 Ford Fusion)"Stable ride responsive steering"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Ford Fusion)"Good acceleration, especially when the ECOBOOST system kicks in; Smooth driving"
Steven G., MI (2018 Ford Fusion)"Good acceleration & throttle response. Good handling & decent ride."
Anonymous, MI (2018 Ford Fusion)"Have had Fusion Energi SE for 9 months and still have a little over half a tank of gas that came in the car originally. The electric motor is responsive for my short trips and amazingly quiet to drive. The vehicle is very comfortable to drive and handles well. Charging from a regular electric outlet in garage is convenient. Using Ford app to start and warm up vehicle in the winter remotely is great."
William W., GA (2018 Ford Fusion)"Very responsive! Steering and braking are excellent. Acceleration with the Eco-boost is surprisingly good (love the included Sports/paddle-shift as an extra perk)."
John C., IL (2018 Ford Fusion)"Quite fast with the Eco boost. The car is efficient and gets good mileage and peppiness for having a I-4"
Graham A., MI (2018 Ford Fusion)
"in a word... awesome. it performs exceedingly well"
