Somehow the Ford Taurus manages to be a rather large sedan with a tight and cramped interior. Poor packaging efficiency, led by a center console resembling the Great Wall of China and not much rear-seat room results in an interior that feels smaller than many midsized sedans. Small windows and thick pillars add to the claustrophobic feel, making it difficult for the driver to see out.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

CLAY O., KS (2013 Ford Taurus)

"I love the acceleration even though every once in a while it hesitates but compaired to our old cars this taurus has some get up and go! The handling could be better on snow. Even my '98 Lumina handles better on snow."

Anonymous, MN (2013 Ford Taurus)

"acceleration and handling of the SHO is outstanding and the car can still get 28 mpg on a long trip"

HARRY S., MD (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Seated in the vehicle I can not see quarter panels/ fenders of the vehicle. It is difficult to see the forward end of the hood."

JAMES M., NY (2013 Ford Taurus)

"It has 19" rims and low profile tires which may be the problem, but the car rides like a truck with no springs. Ford MoCo has checked it twice and say nothing is wrong."

Anonymous, NE (2013 Ford Taurus)

"I am very satisfied with the acceleration and handling of my 2013 Taurus. The 4 cylinder ecco-boost engine is very responsive. I have had no problems with getting onto the highway and getting into heavy traffic. It seems to handle as well as any 6 cylinder engine I have ever had. And the milage is terrific, with about 21 mpg around town and better than 29 mpg on my latest trip. It also has plenty of caring capacity for me to haul my tools and even 8 and 10 foot pieces of lumber, with the back se"

NEAL K., MA (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Handles extremely well for a large four door sedan! Reminds me of my old Audi!"

Richard P., PA (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Nice riding and quiet"

Laird B., FL (2013 Ford Taurus)

"The power is there to merge with traffic from the on ramps."

"Very responsive with enough power to drive confidently on the interstate"

Anonymous, TX (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Great power. Very quiet and smooth ride."

Anonymous, OK (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Excellent handling and acceleration. The vehicle is very responsive, has excellent acceleration and is easy to drive."

Anonymous, MS (2013 Ford Taurus)

"With the 6 speed V6 this car can accelerate well enough to join the interstate or pass safely."

John E., FL (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Nice and quiet, plenty of power."

Bruce L., SD (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Acceleration from a stop in the Taurus is adequate. Having front wheel drive makes it a little difficult to hook up in the wet, but it is very responsive. My main issue is that the transmission takes far too long to downshift when matting the throttle to pass somebody. Handling is okay, the steering is good and very predictable. The car is obviously heavy, but it steers and has much higher limits than I expect from such a vehicle. Passing power is very good. The car also handles snow and ice exceptionally well in Michigan winters with simple All Season tires."

Anonymous, MI (2013 Ford Taurus)

"quiet & mutes road noise"

Anonymous, IN (2013 Ford Taurus)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"The one weakness in this car is road noise. There is insufficient isolation in the front suspension with the low profile tires. It is super quite on smooth asphalt, but concrete roads where the joints are not maintained are a problem."

Anonymous, LA (2013 Ford Taurus)

"For a Ford approaching a 50K price tag, I would have thought that the front seats would be more comfortable. Overall, the car is terrific, interior looks great, but the seats could be more plush or even better configured for a car with this much power."

Anonymous, FL (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Smooth quiet ride w little road and wind noise. Seats comfortable & heated seat option works well."

Anonymous, IA (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Quiet ride; fuel economy with the "Flex fuel e-85"; comfortable seats. It has every option you can get and they have been almost entirely problem free."

Anonymous, WI (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Like body style. Hate tires on it."

Ina W., NE (2013 Ford Taurus)

"An excellent car much overlooked. The SHO model is a great performer"

Anonymous, WI (2013 Ford Taurus)

"The bracket/seat bottom which holds the driver's seat controls is poorly made. There are four weak points of plastic screwed to the seat frame which break easily. Granted I am a big guy 250 lbs, but the seats should be more solid and more comfortable, given the overall quality of the vehicle. A similar piece of plastic broke in the trunk which holds the cargo netting to the sides of the trunk."

Anonymous, FL (2013 Ford Taurus)

"I find over time , because of my age and size , that accessing an d egressing the vehicle, is a little difficult, and the entrance doors are kind of tight in so far as bringing my legs into the vehicle. Designers could provide a solution to this by raising roof line slightl and/or lengthening entrance doors?"

WALTER M., NY (2013 Ford Taurus)

"the ride is quiet and you don't hear much from outside and i really like that BUT after having the car in to a dealer 6 times i found out that the buz in the speakers is "normal" appariently every taurus has speaker buzzing even though i have never listen to another taurus I CAN NOT believe no one but me would be complaining about it. It's loud....but "normal" yeah right!"

Anonymous, MN (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Lots of room, comfortable for backseat passengers. Really enjoy the cool seats"

JEFF S., TX (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Head rest tilts too far forward and is irritating on long trips"

CLAY O., KS (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Seats are comfortable, A/C cools very well, ride is very good, noise is low, acceleration is very good."

Anonymous, MS (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Greatest car my, and I have ever owned. I would have liked to have an SHO, but the wife said NO."

JAMES B., IN (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Very quiet ride."

JIM K., AZ (2013 Ford Taurus)

"the seating and luggage space are good for 5 adults"

Anonymous, MA (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Very comfortable seat, ride is comfortable climate control works good, drives excellent"

Anonymous, IL (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Seats are very comfortable, styling is great throughout the entire car."

Shawn D., NY (2013 Ford Taurus)

"excellent for taller driver"

Anonymous, IN (2013 Ford Taurus)

"Over 30miles per gallon on hwy when under 65 mph"

Bruce L., SD (2013 Ford Taurus)

"I feel like my Taurus rides incredibly well. Bumps are soaked up very well and the ride is steady with few body motions on the highway. The cabin is also nicely quiet. The only issue I have is the lack of power recline in my SEL trim level. Cooled seats would be nice as well. The rear seat is roomy and comfortable, but the seats are a little too soft for long journeys."

Anonymous, MI (2013 Ford Taurus)

"LOVE to drive the car!"

Anonymous, MA (2013 Ford Taurus)

"The 2013 Taurus is a very good looking and comfortable car. Very quiet. The sync navigation capability to tie to your phone does not exist. On long trips I prefer my 2017 Hyundai mainly for SUV height and the navigation link to the auto screen. The Taurus trunk is HUGE."

Laird B., FL (2013 Ford Taurus)

"very comfortable seats and easy of driving"

Anonymous, KY (2013 Ford Taurus)

"We do a lot of traveling so it's important that this vehicle be comfortable for long periods. This is one of the most comfortable cars we've owned."

John E., FL (2013 Ford Taurus)

David M., PA (2013 Ford Taurus)

"seat adjustments"

Anonymous, TX (2013 Ford Taurus)

"More features on this car, limited edition, than most Linolns"
