The Acadia is one of GM's three-row SUVs that can seat seven or eight passengers. It uses the same 3.6-liter, V6 engine as the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse, which makes 288 hp. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic, combining to make a smooth and refined powertrain, although it sometimes hesitates to downshift when needed. The Acadia is available with front- or all-wheel drive.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

What Owners Say

"Electronics on this car are junk. Back-up camera is a must have because you can't see very much out of the rear window and it hasn't worked properly for four years. Sometimes all warning lights will flash and dash just "freaks out". I turn car off and back on sort of like a reboot. Car flat out quit running on me on the highway at 70mph because of MAP sensor. That was VERY dangerous. I've owned many 4WD/AWD vehicles for 34 years. This is by far the worst of them all! Front wheels will just spin"

Anonymous, MO (2010 GMC Acadia)

"The car handles well, is very comfortable and has good acceleration. Steers well around corners. It's a pig on gas."

EDWIN H., ON (2010 GMC Acadia)

"Handles fairly well for its size and weight"

Anonymous, WI (2010 GMC Acadia)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Very comfortable ride. Fairly quiet ride. A/C has had a few issues such as coolant leaks. Car has good pickup but mileage is not so good."

EDWIN H., ON (2010 GMC Acadia)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Overpriced, not built durably. We've had so many things wear out or require maintenance or replacement with only light daily use that I conclude they just aren't built well. SUV has 62000 miles! GMC "Professional Grade", I don't think so! Tow truck is coming this morning to haul it in for repair, it's making a loud mechanical noise and will not continue running once started."

JEFFREY D., VA (2010 GMC Acadia)

"Have gotten great utility with the storage, roominess, and ability to tow. Looks stylish while versatile."

Joe G., IL (2010 GMC Acadia)

Percentage of owners who would definitely purchase that same vehicle again. Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?". If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
