The Acadia has a spacious and quiet interior, with a very roomy third-row seat. It uses a smooth and refined 3.6-liter, V6 engine that returned 16 mpg overall in our test of the similar Chevrolet Traverse. The six-speed automatic sometimes hesitates to downshift when needed. The Acadia is available with front- or all-wheel drive.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Anonymous, PA (2011 GMC Acadia)

“The acceleration is "very sluggest", and the gas milage is not even close to what was listed. Very over priced suv. If rear door passenger windows are down, the is a very annoying thumping sound that developes. Also, there are no ways to hang-up a jacket or coat in the rear passenger door areas- no hooks. There is not a "usable handle" to help driver or front passanger to step-up into the front cab. I have had to replace 3 different solinoids for the a/c system at a cost of $350.0 each !!! The”

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

“The Acadia has been holding its value much more than standard GM vehicles.”

CHRISTINE A., ON (2011 GMC Acadia)

“The GMC Acadia Denali has it all. Style, comfort, usefulness transporting people / cargo over long distances. After traveling all day, a person isn't beat up. The comfort of having both heated and cooled seats are nice when traveling to Arizona in the summer and Utah in the winter.”

OLWYN W., CO (2011 GMC Acadia)

“It is overpriced for the features. Newer models have upgraded many of the items, but the 2011 is cheaply built and priced similar to the upgraded models of today. Plastic dash, uncomfortable seats, tire noise and poor handling along with numerous recalls that got botched by the dealer. We just got the airbag recall properly repaired after almost 5 years of problems with it.”

DALE P., NE (2011 GMC Acadia)

“There's a number of features this car has that are very user-unfriendly. The vents on the dash do not move enough to provide adequate cooling. The outlet for the phone plug is directly in front of the cup holder making it almost impossible to use them simultaneously. The driver seat does not raise up high enough for adequate visibility, necessitating the use of a cushion to see. The rear window is so small that visibility is impossible & the image from the rear camera is so distorted that it is”

Anonymous, GA (2011 GMC Acadia)

“Engine had to replaced at 5.5 years and 87,000 miles. Also front and rear suspension systems.”

Anonymous, MI (2011 GMC Acadia)

“It drives and feels like a luxury vehicle but it was extremely affordable for an eight person SUV. The best car I've owned so far, American or import”

RENEE M., MI (2011 GMC Acadia)

“It hauls a lot of people very comfortably, handles snow and other hazardous driving conditions very well. It came with a lot of features at what we found to be a good price.”

P L., VA (2011 GMC Acadia)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

“The chrome interior trim reflects the sunlight and can be blinding at times which is dangerous.”

Anonymous, MI (2011 GMC Acadia)

“This style is very good, best styling for SUV on market. Newer models not so much. Wold not purchase a newer model. Maybe 2017 forward will not look like a stretched out and oversized Terrain.”

JIM V., IN (2011 GMC Acadia)
