General Motors might not build minivans anymore, but that doesn't mean they're out of the big family-vehicle market, as three-row SUVs such as the GMC Acadia demonstrates. The large SUV is very spacious inside, comfortably seating up to eight adults, while leaving some cargo space behind the third row. Drivers and passengers should appreciate the quiet cabin, comfortable seats, and well-finished interior.

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for about 420,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2019 vehicles are holding up in 17 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical system. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.

"compressor locked up and had to be replaced"

Dale C., TX (2015 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6-L V6)

Anonymous, MO (2015 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6-L V6)

"compressor stopped working and emitted a smoke like substance ..they replaced it at no cost"

Anonymous, FL (2015 GMC Acadia Denali 3.6-L V6)
Automatic climate control

"does not seem to cool the vehicle. no matter what temperature at. could be a small left other compressor they threw into a too big of car."

Anonymous, FL (2015 GMC Acadia Denali 3.6-L V6)

"Temperature changes dramatically at the strangest times. For example, after driving a while in the winter with the heater on, the air conditioner goes on causing frost on windows"

Anonymous, IL (2015 GMC Acadia 3.6-L V6)
Blower (fan) motor

"See previous notation, with leak in the evaporator the blower motor needed replacement as then come as a unit"

Anonymous, KS (2015 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6-L V6)

Anonymous, GA (2015 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6-L V6)
Evaporator

"Rust and leak of freon in the evaporator unit nessicating replace of evaporator and blower fan which come as a unit"

Anonymous, GA (2015 GMC Acadia Denali 3.6-L V6)

"One month out of warranty. Dealer/GM would not cover even though they had worked on it previously during warranty period. And we wonder why people go to other companies with 10 year 100,000 mile warranties. I bought American made on purpose. Oops."

Anonymous, FL (2015 GMC Acadia Denali 3.6-L V6)

"Air conditioner wouldn't work due to leaking rear evaporator. Cost $940 to replace and recharge system."

Steve D., WI (2015 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6-L V6)
Refrigerant leaks

"Coolant leaked from rear, causing system to stop operating. When fixed and re-pressurized, it caused a hose up front to burst, again losing all refrigerant and quitting. After hose was fixed and recharged, compressor gave out a couple days later, again causing it to quit. Was many thousand dollars, but fortunately we had an extended warranty. Since that was all fixed, has been operating normally for about 6 months (in AZ, so it's been getting a workout)."

"Just doesn't work reliably."

Anonymous, OH (2015 GMC Acadia Denali 3.6-L V6)

"Certain features, such as the text message to voice feature originally existed, but no longer operates. GMC was unable to resolve issue. They blame the Apple for the problem (this specific feature still works on Android phones). Instead of GMC updating software to restore paid for features, customer service had the nerve to suggest I “fix” issue by purchasing new vehicle with Apple car play. Bottom line is I feel duped into buying a product that isn’t delivering its promises."

V D., NH (2015 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6-L V6)
