    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"Thermostat controlling the fan on the motor wouldnt shut off. $2000 part. Replaced for $50 deductible under Forever Warranty."

Anonymous, TX (2017 GMC Acadia Denali 3.6-L V6)

""Two problems very common on GMC message boards with little resolution by repair shops. 1. Shift to park. Shifter is in Park, dash display says to shift to park.My hack is to snap the button on shifter. 2. Driver Assist Reduced message. Occurs intermittently. Began around 55Kmi. Thermostat reads cold, sometimes idle races. Happens periodically after gas fills. Might be associated with ECT sensor oer my own research. Owners on GMC blog report expensive repairs but error recurs. Mine spontaneously appears then resolves. Goes through phases.""

Disconnecting the battery and draining capacitors would help but time consuming. Resetting defaults and remote updating helped best. Did not effect/affect any other systems including changing stations or volume control from steering wheel."

    What Owners Say

    Other electrical system problem

""For years, the original shifter when switched to park would not always allow the vehicle to recognize it was in park. There would be a message upon turning off the car that said Shift to park (even the car was indeed parked). GMC eventually acknowledged that this was an issue, but did not issue a recall. I had to pay GMC to fix this major engineering problem (about $800). This was a major safety issue for the vehicle. My wife and I always had to say a prayer excepting we turned off the car just hoping that the vehicle would randomly recognize the car was indeed shifted to park.""

Anonymous, KS (2017 GMC Acadia SLE 3.6-L V6)

"There are various electrical problems across the front display screen. Everything from blank screens to various temporary failures of plugins or various OEM electronics working and sometimes failing. Usually restarting the engine remedies most things. Often times driving works."

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    Evaporator

""The a/c was cooling but not as cool as normal. It was early September in Kansas City, and my GM dealer diagnosed and fixed the a/c leak under the hood, and we immediately left on a 1500 mile trip. The air conditioner blew barely cool air. We were not uncomfortable, but not perfectly comfortable either. As soon as we were back, I took my Acadia back to the dealer. They were embarrassed to report that when they repaired the a/c leak under the hood, they did not pressure check the a/c system - admitting in retrospect that they should have. The problem was the REAR evaporator at the very rear of the vehicle, leaking the new refrigerant they installed when they repaired the leak under the hood. It was an understandable mistake, but not a defensible mistake. They replaced the rear evaporator and added new refrigerant at a reduced cost and an apology. That fixed the problem and we were back to normally cool air. They were gracious and not defensive.""

    Anonymous A., KS (2017 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6-L V6)
