2005 GMC Envoy Reliability - Consumer Reports
The GMC Envoy has a good basic design with roomy, quiet accommodations and a compliant ride. But handling is less than agile overall and sloppy at the limit. Braking isn't very good, either. We also found the front-seat-mounted safety belts uncomfortable. Stability control was made standard for 2006, which improves handling considerably in emergency situations.

I have replaced all of the coil on plug units, the plugs are fine, I replaced, the fuel pump, the throttle body, the variable valve timing solenoid and several other parts I can't remember at this time. The success? Zero. The blessed 2000 series of the GMC Envoy with the 4.2litre engine is known to have major electrical issues and I have no recourse for help with the repairs and I am out of ideas short of pushing it off of a cliff."
