This full-sized pickup truck, and its Chevrolet Silverado twin, have been redesigned for 2007. It shares a platform with the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. The new Sierra retains the previous model's selectable, full-time, four-wheel-drive system and a generous load capacity. Electronic stability control is standard in the crew-cab model, but optional in the extended cab.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

What Owners Say

"Well the truck is powerful. I purchased it used in 2010. It has a 5.3 litre engine. I actually use the truck for it's built purpose, rather than show. Moves right out with lots of weight in the bed."

Nick A., CA (2007 GMC Sierra 1500)

"It's a trouble free truck that rides almost as nice as our car. Great vehicle. I will keep it a long time."

"rides like a car and can get out of it's own way very dependable!"

Tom D., NJ (2007 GMC Sierra 1500)

"In true, typical GM fashion, this truck handles like an overloaded lumber wagon when going over rough terrain or turning sharp turns at medium-to-higher speeds. Even with new brakes, it is hard to stop. Acceleration is dismal, unless you put the drive system into the "TOW" mode."
