GMC Sierra 1500

Service person said that our pickup was the 3rd 2011 GMC that day with the same issue we had. The dealer didn't have the part in stock, ordered it. Provided us with a car and repaired it for free. Dealer was great! When the time comes we will buy a G M product. Dealer was in Maysville, Kentucky"

"GMC has a known issue with the system that drops from 8 cyl to 4 cyl when cruising to conserve gas. Nothing shows as a problem on engine diagnostics, but it cost us about $6800 to get this issue resolved. Because it’s a known issue, GMC should have covered the repair and they have since done a redesign. They have refused. GMC has always been our preferred brand of truck and we’ve owned them for over 30 years. This is our last!"

"My major problems began with the engine system that drops from 8 cyl to 4 cyl when cruising. That repair cost us over $6800. We still were having problems and the truck felt at times like we were on a rumble strip. We now needed a new transmission for $5000. These are known problems. In the past my dad and I had a Toyota with a known issue with the frame and they bought it back at 1 1/2 X’s maximum book value. When our truck problems began with the GMC it was within the appropriate mileage to be covered under warranty but not the # of years. Since the internet is filled with cases similar to ours and GMC has since done a redesign to not have a reoccurrence of this issue, we felt they should cover the repairs and they have refused. We have had GMC’s for about 30 years, but without resolution this is our last, but sadly also our most expensive GMC"

"Learning system is poor at best, as only user for 7 years, it still mixes up commands. Using stored numbers works only when parked or driving slow. Outside noise appears to distort it reception."
