Katherine R., KY (2010 GMC Terrain SLT 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Engine used oil for unexplained reason so GM opted to replace it"
Anonymous, SC (2010 GMC Terrain SLT 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The rings were defective in the original engine. It was already burning oil when we bought it with 106000 miles. GM sent us a recall about it but wouldn't cover any of the cost since it was over 120000 miles at that point. The engine burned more and more oil, burning out the catalytic converter which was a thousand dollars to replace alone. After deteriorating to burning over a quart of oil a week, the engine died four miles from home and we barely made it back home, then two miles to the mechanic. Replacing the engine and catalytic converter cost almost $6000."
