Introduction
The GMC Yukon/Chevy Tahoe twins have moved to a new platform that's more refined than before. (Until the 2001 model year, the upscale Yukon Denali and an updated version of the Cadillac Escalade must make do with an older chassis and less horsepowerÑand they're more expensive than the the Yukon and Tahoe.) Handling, braking, and ride have all improved significantly on the new models. A third row of seats is available as well. Both the Yukon and Tahoe are roomy and quiet. The V8s develop plenty of power, and the transmission shifts smoothly. Two-wheel-drive models are available with traction control.
