    Honda Accord Hybrid

    Latest Model

    2023 Model Redesign Year
The redesigned Accord has four up-level trims that are hybrid-only. They use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder combined with electric drive to produce 204 hp. Not only is the hybrid more fuel-efficient, at 40 mpg overall, 8 mpg more than the conventional Accord, but it's more pleasant to drive, thanks to ample oomph and simulated shifts. It can propel itself on electric power at low speeds. The Accord Hybrid goes through turns with fluidity and rides well. The front seat loses support quickly, but the generously-sized rear seat is comfy.
All hybrid models come with Honda's largest-ever touchscreen--a 12.3-in. display.

    2023-Present

    2023 Model Redesign Year
The Accord Hybrid is treated to an evolutionary redesign for the 2023 model year, growing in size, adding convenience features, and bolstering its safety feature roster. There are four trims to choose from, stepping up from the modestly equipped Sport to a well-dressed Touring that aims to rival luxury-branded sedans. All versions have a 204-hp hybrid. All Accord Hybrids feature Honda's largest-ever touchscreen--a 12.3-inch display. AEB with pedestrian detection, LKA, and adaptive cruise control are all standard. Plus there is a standard rear seat belt reminder, and a rear seat reminder to warn of a child or pet potentially left behind.
For 2025, all trims receive rear climate vents, rear USB-C ports, and a wireless charger. The Sport trim gets heated seats and the top Touring trim gets a heated steering wheel.

    2018-2022

    2018 Model Redesign Year
Completely redesigned for 2018, this generation of Accord Hybrid achieved an impressive 47 mpg overall in our testing without sacrificing acceleration or trunk space. Buyers can also opt for a choice of two turbocharged, four-cylinder engines. The base version gets a 192-hp, 1.5-liter engine mated to a continuously variable transmission, a combination that is mostly unobtrusive and delivers adequate power. The up-level turbocharged 2.0-liter brings 252 hp and a slick 10-speed automatic, but features an unintuitive push-button gear selector. The infotainment system includes easy-to-use knobs for tuning and volume adjustment. Handling is responsive, and the ride is comfortable.
Standard active safety features include FCW and AEB with pedestrian detection, while BSW and RCTW are optional.

    2014-2017

    2014 Model Redesign Year
The Hybrid Accord returned for the 2014 model year. It achieved an impressive 40-mpg overall in our testing and operates smoothly, but it doesn't ride or handle as well and sacrifices a lot of trunk space compared to gas-only Accords of this generation. A Plug-in version was available in some states with a claimed electric range of 13 miles. The basic four-cylinder Accord is among the top ranked family sedans. It rides and handles well, has a roomy and well-finished interior, and gets an impressive 30 mpg overall with its unobtrusive CVT. The 3.5-liter V6 is lively and refined, and with the six-speed automatic gets a very good 26 mpg overall.
Higher end models have had problems with the touch-screen infotainment system. 2017 models received standard active safety and driver assistance features including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

    2005-2008

    2005 Model Redesign Year
The Accord Hybrid has many of the same traits as our top-rated non-hybrid V6 sedan. It has a roomy cabin and a steady, compliant ride. Like the non-hybrid V6 model, the hybrid delivers quick acceleration, but it only achieved 25 mpg overall in our testing, just one mpg better than the four-cylinder. The automatic transmission shifts very smoothly and responsively but the hybrid model compromises refinement when going in and out of electric mode in stop-and-go traffic. The Accord is quiet, though less so than the Toyota Camry and VW Passat because of some road noise. Side and curtain air bags are standard.
2006 and newer models received standard electronic stability control (ESC).
