Honda Accord Hybrid

EPA MPG: 25 mpg

CR's Take
The Accord Hybrid has many of the same traits as our top-rated non-hybrid V6 sedan. It has a roomy cabin and a steady, compliant ride. Like the non-hybrid V6 model, the hybrid delivers quick acceleration, but it only achieved 25 mpg overall in our testing, just one mpg better than the four-cylinder. The automatic transmission shifts very smoothly and responsively but the hybrid model compromises refinement when going in and out of electric mode in stop-and-go traffic. The Accord is quiet, though less so than the Toyota Camry and VW Passat because of some road noise. New for 2006, electronic stability control is standard. Side and curtain air bags also remain standard.
