    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"Whenever an iPhone was connected for an extended amount of time (around an hour or more), Apple Carplay would freeze. Generally, it can be detected when Google Maps/Waze would freeze giving directions or music that was playing would stop. Usually restarting the car would restore the functionality. Sometimes unplugging the phone and reconnecting the phone would restore functionality."

Anonymous A., CA (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Apple CarPlay has been unreliable since I've owned the car. The Dealer says the problem is with Apple and yet my Subaru Outback has no problem with Apple CarPlay"

Anonymous, NC (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"When driving using Apple Maps, the screen freezes."

Anonymous, MO (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Problem not resolved. CarPlay intermittently breaks off - usually when trying to return to a call, podcast, or audio book, after taking a call. CarPlay also is interrupted when the screen freezes."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"After having the head unit replaced I have had issues with Apple CarPlay stay g connected. Specifically when usin WAZE for guidance on long drives The CarPlay will just disconnect (while the cord is still plugged in to the unit and phone. Sometimes it will reconnect if I unplug and plug the phone from the cord but other times it wont reconnect til the car is shut off and then turned back on. Other times it will just reconnect after a few minutes without me doing anything. I like to use WAZE rather than the built in GPS sometimes for the extra information it provides to me."

Anonymous A., OH (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Display screen freezes up

"Interface with Waze and delay in gps following private location then freezing up"

Anonymous, TX (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"When using Waze, screen will often freeze Required shutting off car and restarting"

Anonymous, FL (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"2021 - happens nearly daily. I turn the system off and disconnect my phone. Sometimes, I can turn it back on and relaunch CarPlay. Usually, it wont work again until the car has been shut down."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The problem has existed since I've owned the car and the Dealer is unable to solve the problem. They blame the problem on my iPhone."

Anonymous, NC (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"It often doesnt recognize phone by usb port"

Anonymous, TX (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Hardware replacement

"Was getting strong static through the speakers each time I drove the car for a half hour or more. The dealer determined that the head unit had an issue where when it got hot there was a short was occurring that made the static. I found in online forums this has been happening to other people but I was told that Honda was not yet getting enough complaints to do anything about helping cover the repair/replacement of the head units so I had to pay to have the head unit replaced with a manufactured head unit. That fixed the static problem but I have had problems with the Apple car play staying connected while using the replacement head unit."

Anonymous A., OH (2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The built-in GPS navigation works well, but after 2 years, the built-in map update feature stopped accepting map updates. I was supposed to get 5 years of free map updates, but only got 2 years worth. Unfortunately the Honda dealership would charge me for bringing the car in as a service call to fix this issue and I didn't want to pay to get the free map updates when Apple Carplay & Google Maps were an option instead of the built-in navigation feature. Anyway, the built-in navigation still works, it just uses older maps."
