    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"Carplay interface is iffy, at best. Once engaged, it's fine, but connection on startup is unreliable."

    Hardware replacement

"Infotainment system is erratic, switching screens, beeping, navigation system switches to unknown areas, radio stations switch with no input. Worked with Honda America for months before anything was done to correct the problem, and then it was supposedly fixed with a refurbished infotainment system screen. Did correct the issues for a while however, the same symptoms are now recurring. I had a similar issue with my 2018 CR/V and it wasn't until the entire system went belly up that Honda acknowledged the problem [and of course by then it was out of warranty]. I consider this a safety issue that is very distracting. The system beeps, maps change spontaneously, systems settings appear spontaneously and request input, radio stations change -- all diverting the drivers' attention. After the second visit to the dealership for the same problem, I received an email requesting a response to a survey from the dealer concerning my recent service experience, the one where I got the "cannot duplicate" diagnosis. I completed the survey and described my experience. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Honda asking if I had been contacted by the dealer management. I responded that I had not been contacted and reiterated the issue that I have been dealing with. Since that time, both Honda and the local Honda dealer have been silent. I have owned Honda vehicles for the past thirty-three years and for the most part have been very pleased with both the vehicle and the dealer performance -- until the infotainment problem. In the 2018 CR/V it started shortly after purchase with only random and infrequent screen freezing and beeping. With the passage of time, it got progressively worse until it finally was completely unresponsive. Similarly, within six months of purchase, the 2021 Accord displayed some of the same erratic symptoms. And similarly, the dealer service response was and is the same: We "cannot duplicate." I want to stress again that my wife and I went on a thirty-minute drive and were able to video multiple instances of infotainment system erratic behavior persistent beeping, starburst pattern appearing on the screen, and spontaneous map changes. Unfortunately, during this drive not all the problems we experienced occurred that include radio station and broadcast frequency changes [XM to FM and AM], system setting screens appearing and rotating through a series of setting screens, and display freezing. I really want Honda to acknowledge and to fix this problem before the distraction it causes results in some undesirable occurrence."
