Honda Civic Si

Available only as a sedan, this Si is based on the 11th-generation Civic. Honda refreshed the Civic for 2025. Thanks to suspension tweaks, most Civics get a ride comfort improvement, but not the Si. The stiff and choppy ride can send big jolts into the cabin on rougher roads. The sporty Si comes only with a six-speed manual transmission and a 200-hp turbo engine. The precise shifter is a delight to operate.

Redesigned for 2017, the Civic Si, available as either a coupe or a four-door sedan, uses a powerful 205-hp, 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that revs easily, sounds invigorating. The high- performance Type R with a 306-hp, 2.0-liter turbo engine also debuted in the U.S.. The standard six-speed manual transmission has ideally spaced gear ratios and shifts crisply. It gets a commendable 32 mpg overall in our tests. However, the Si falls short as a sports sedan. While the handling is capable, it is uninspiring and lacking in finesse, and the steering lacks feel and response.
