    Keyless entry

""The car would lock and unlock itself when i walked by or came close to the car. It would unlock itself after i had pressed the key fob to lock it. Dealer couldnt solve the problem. That started about a year ago. Then i left the car in the airport parking lot for 1 week and the battery was dead when i returned. I ended up buying a new battery. Everything seemed fine until I left the car in the airport parking lot again for a week and exactly the same thing happened. Eventually, the dealer discovered there was a problem with the car door locks that was creating a drain on the battery. It cost me $700 to have that fixed, they had to remove both doors open them, fix the electronics and reinstall the doors. It is working fine now, and I have left it for several weeks in parking lots and it starts right up when I get in it.""

Now spring is here I didnt start for just 2 days in 50 degree weather and same problem. Starts right up with a quick jump. What gives."

    Anonymous A., IL (2016 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"I kept having to replace the battery. 4x in 18 months. The dealership kept working with me to try to discover the problem. I ended up turning off anything that might drain the battery, drove it every 3 days on a freeway, and keeping the car in the garage to avoid summer heat. Also purchased a portable charger to put under the driver seat, but never had to use it. It's been fine."

    Anonymous, CA (2016 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

    "needed to replace starter motor"

    Anonymous, WI (2016 Honda CR-V Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"The latch for the hatch (the motor and button that you use to release it) consistently fails. It was replaced the year we bought it at the dealer, but when temperatures are low it freezes up and the back hatch can't be released. This appears to be a known issue for a large portion of the CRV line and it is enough of an issue I would consider recommending a different car."

    Anonymous, CO (2016 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"The maintenance light is always on -- was on when I bought it from the dealership. Even after a tune up. Other than that, no issues."

    Blower (fan) motor

"Blower function became intermittent. Fortunately, everything on the AC was covered by extended warranty, but it took 2 weeks for Honda to approve the claim and have repairs completed."

    Anonymous, TX (2016 Honda CR-V Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Other climate system problem

"My AC worked sporadically for well over a year, and brought it in for servicing at a Honda dealership. Of course the AC worked perfectly when at the dealership! They replaced some hose then the condenser, each time it worked for about a week before reverting to intermittent functioning. Driving in the South without AC in the summer is not for the faint of heart. Finally when bringing it in for an oil change this June, the AC was not working on my drive to the dealership. I had the Honda employee feel the (not cool) air blowing from the vents and had a witness to what was considered my manic behavior about the problem! Honda finally figured that it was the AC expansion valve that was the problem and replaced it along with the year-old condenser that was faulty (thankfully that was still under warranty). So after 18 months without a properly functioning AC system and $3000 later...my CR-V AC system works without failure."

    Anonymous, NC (2016 Honda CR-V Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Refrigerant leaks

"I felt system wasnt blowing nearly as cold as it did. Dealer couldnt find a leak but system was slightly low so topped it off. Said ticket was good for one year so if so If similar issue happened to bring it back and I would not be charged again for the check up if it was within the tickets year"

    Squeaks or rattles

""There was an interior squeak in the dash somewhere. Dealership could not locate the problem. We fixed it by putting a wine cork between the steering column and the dashboard. Also, the car vibrates terribly when you are at a stop light/sign. While waiting for the light to turn green, we move the transmission to Neutral which is a higher RPM which resolves the vibration. Honda dealer will not increase rpms at idle so this has been our remedy. We keep our cars 10 years more or less. Looking forward to the new car whatever that will be""

Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.

    What Owners Say

    Engine rebuild or replacement

""The oil light came on when I was breaking. I checked the oil and it was fine, but the light kept coming on so I took it in to Honda and they said the oil was leaking into the engine and they needed to do a rebuild. I asked why they thought it happened when the car had a little less than 60k miles. They couldnt tell me- its just one of those things that happens.
