The 2018 Odyssey's redesign isn't revolutionary, but Honda still made big improvements to its power, fuel economy, ride, and cabin quietness. It offers more features to pamper travelers and keep them connected. The overall result is a premium feel. Inside, passengers will find the front seats large and inviting, but the bottom cushion loses firmness over long trips.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Transmission is not refined to the level you would expect in this kind of vehicle. It is jerky and sloppy at slow speeds and when when driving real easy. When driven more aggressively, it is much better. Also the motor doesn’t run smoothly at low RPM. When you slow down to make a turn and then step on the gas, there is a low of delay while it tries to figure out what gear to go to. The other major item is the steering is real stiff at highway speeds. Hands get tired if you have grooves in road or cross wind. The last item is the lane keeping assist which doesn’t work well enough to even mess with. Even with good stripes on the road it can’t keep it between the lines for a mile. Other than those items the van rides great, it’s very quiet, and is VERY comfortable."

David C., AR (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"This Odyssey has 30 more HP than our 2006, it can really get up and go with 280hp."

John R., FL (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"easy to maneuver, drives small, handels great for a van, breakes are mooshy."

Anonymous, NY (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Acceleration a bit sluggish on the low end"

Aaron R., IL (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"This is a dream to drive!"

Anonymous, WI (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Man this is a mini van. What a ride. Drove it to Canada and back. Can’t say I drove the speed limit. With that at the speeds I was driving the van seemed to steady strong intact with the road and very controllable at high speeds. Sport mode with the panel shifters is fun with no problems"

Gerald W., NY (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Good - the acceleration is exceptional for its size and the mileage it gets. Again, for its size it handles very well and is very smooth on the road."

Anonymous, NY (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Smooth acceleration. Corners flat."

Anonymous, FL (2019 Honda Odyssey)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Although you give up space by middle seats not folding flat. All seats very comfortable. Drivers seat you can adjust to the hearts content."

Gerald W., NY (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Good - overall it is a quality ride, comfortable seats, low noise, very roomy."

Anonymous, NY (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Very quiet."

Anonymous, FL (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"It is a smooth and comfortable ride. Quieter than we had expected. Seats are great, also very comfortable. The road noise is not bad at all"

Paul G., GA (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"I have owned 7 Odyssey’s and this model is the most comfortable, very quiet, and its handling is outstanding."

Anonymous, FL (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"The seats aren’t as comfortable as I expected."

Anonymous, AB (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Interior noise level is much reduced from older similar models. Driver seat has 12 positions and has a memory seat/mirror option for two people. Ride is very solid but not harsh."

Thomas P., IL (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Wow! What a huge improvement over the previous generation (2015, in our case). Fit, finish, comfort, and all aspects are exponentially better. My only complaint is that the middle row seats are VERY heavy and the back doesn't fold flat. They're removable, but not easily removable."

Scott Z., MI (2019 Honda Odyssey)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"We used a car pricing service to get quotes on our new Odyssey, we were very happy with the price and all of the options we get with this vehicle."

John R., FL (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"odyssey maintains its resale value because the van is in demand in the used car market."

Anonymous, FL (2019 Honda Odyssey)

"Safety systems are the best available and are easy to use. They definitely help the driver to be a better and safer driver. Mileage is excellent for a large vehicle and can achieve about 30 mpg on the highway with a full load. Vehicle handling and performance is excellent."

Thomas P., IL (2019 Honda Odyssey)
