Although the previous Pilot was previously considered a Top Pick in this category, we were disappointed with this model. It lost ground on interior fit and finish, as well as braking. Road noise remains omnipresent and the center console is crowded. That said, the Pilot is a very functional vehicle. Fuel economy is improved by one mpg overall, it still seats eight, and it drives pretty well.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Good Turning Radius"

Anonymous, CA (2010 Honda Pilot)

"Very good acceleration, however, tends to oversteer if accelerating while turning. Plenty of power."

Anonymous, FL (2010 Honda Pilot)

"It handles well, comfortable to drive but sometimes hard to park in smaller spaces."

Anonymous, NY (2010 Honda Pilot)

"Bad compliance bushings caused vibration when the brakes were applied. This occurred after about 50,000 miles of driving. Honda replaced the bushings free of charge at about 70,000 miles without explanation. One service advisor told me that the new compliance bushings were improved from the orignial bushings. This was not a safety problem as the brakes worked fine, however it did effect the performance of the car."

VINCENT H., NH (2010 Honda Pilot)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"It's fabulous for highway driiving"

Anonymous, AB (2010 Honda Pilot)

"Not enough room in front seats. Can't straighten legs. Only car I have ever had that this is true for. I am only 5'11" tall"

ROBERT P., MI (2010 Honda Pilot)

"The vehicle does not block out sounds very well. Quite noisy."

Anonymous, VA (2010 Honda Pilot)

"Seats and climate controls are great. But it is a little noisy when driving and when you only open a back window there is a distinctive annoying wind vibration. If you open a front window, the vibration disappears. I find the ride generally good but sometimes over rough roads, potholes and speed bumps the ride is quite rocky with lots of side to side movements at slower speeds."

Anonymous, ON (2010 Honda Pilot)

"I'm 6'3". Just not enough leg room in ANY Honda vehicle for me."

MARK G., OR (2010 Honda Pilot)

"Too much road noise. Seating and cooling are excellent."

Anonymous, CA (2010 Honda Pilot)

"It is quite noisy (road/tire noise)"

KEVIN S., MB (2010 Honda Pilot)

"I like that I can control the air and seat temperature by degree/hi low, independent of driver. Also can be separate from back seat."

JANE S., MN (2010 Honda Pilot)

"The vehicle has heated seats and rear entertainment system. Overall noise level is good for a V6 with large tires. The ride is smooth but hesitates sometimes on acceleration. I think my vehicle had a cylinder management issue, fixed on recall."

Anonymous, FL (2010 Honda Pilot)

JOHN D., TX (2010 Honda Pilot)

"Very comfortable on short trips, but fatigue can set in on long trips."
