With the Ridgeline, Honda has evolved the concept of the pickup, creating a smart truck aimed squarely at the actual needs of most pickup owners. The original, innovative Ridgeline turned off many buyers because of its peculiar styling. The lessons have been learned. As a result, the second-generation Ridgeline looks much more conventional, while being even more sensible.

Garry C., ON (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Smooth & quiet. Enough power for my needs even at our 4,000 altitude in and the hills. Handles like a smaller vehicle. I do not, however, like the feel of the brake pedal: too soft and too much travel."

G H., VA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Very smooth ride. The safety features are great."

R F., TX (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Acceleration is great. I like that it handles tight when making turns, etc. There is not a lot of play in the steering when driving which is nice. Braking is very responsive but not the kind that can pitch you forward in your seat if you aren't careful."

Debbie H., UT (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Handles well, good acceleration and good mileage for a truck."

Anonymous, PA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Great handling, especially for a pickup. Acceleration more than adeqate with V6, especially when compared to my 2013 Mazda CX-5."

"Very responsive constant excelleration when passing. Make you feel safe and handles very well at high speed passing"

John R., BC (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

Anonymous, TN (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Smooth ride. Drives like an SUV."

Anonymous, AB (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

ROBERT S., AZ (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"There is plenty of power, and there is an eco button that makes it drive more efficiently. That button is perfect for in town, everyday driving. My Ridgeline handles better than any car or truck that I've ever owned."

Anonymous, WI (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Bad: Experienced a serious failure where the vehicle failed to stop with brakes fully depressed. I guess that is a "handling problem". At 356 miles had an incident where the vehicle would not stop. Fortunately this occurred at low speed in a parking lot. Pulling into a parking space day 5 of ownership and was not able to stop my Ridgeline before hitting the vehicle in the space in front of me. Brake fully depressed and vehicle would not stop. Not sure if issue is brake failure, throttle overridi"

DAVID S., VA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Comparing to a 2014 SE, 2009 RTL, 2006 RTL it can get up and go. Less cabin noise and does not hunt for gears. It drives very nicely."

"Very fast and excellent handling."

Al B., WA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

Charles H., WA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"For a mid size pick-up, when econ button is on, it accelerate slowly, not responding well. The handling is good, not like driving a truck."

Alfred F., CA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"It is the best driving car in my experience. Comfort and handling/responsiveness"

Joyce K., OH (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Especially like the backup camera (except when the tailgate is folded down) when hauling lumber. The engines power is more than enough for any situation. The comfort & quiet cabin are exceptionally good. The wheel wells in the pickup box are 49‿ so a 4x8 sheet of plywood fits between lying flat."

Larry B., MN (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Positive: Responsive handling and acceleration, drives more like an SUV than a truck which is what I was seeking. Negative: The "Econ" mode makes the vehicle feel sluggish and non responsive to acceleration inputs requiring the pedal to be depressed more, hence I don't use it."

Jesse B., TN (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Drives with same maneuverability as car. Good acceleration, obstacle avoidance"

Jean B., WI (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Acceleration in the mid gears while driving on the highway, in busy rush-hour conditions, is not as responsive as expected. Many times I press on the gas pedal needing my vehicle to accelerate quickly, and it lags causing either a delayed acceleration or a vastly slower-than-expected one. Sometimes this lag causes me to have my vehicle in a dangerous position because it does not respond as expected. Of note, when driving in conditions like these I do not utilize the "Eco" function, therefore I expect more from my truck in the mid range that the "Eco" function limits."

Justin A., PA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"Our 2017 Ridgeline drives brilliantly with all its safety features to keep us on the road safely. I hope to always have safety features this vehicle provides. Acceleration and handling are impressive. We loved our 2007 Ridgeline, and Honda made many improvements with this new version."

"I already mentioned the wipers problem winter the other issue is the access to spare in winter. I had mine freeze up when snow melted and refroze . Have to buy a tanneu witch will not work with my rack. I put snows on in winter and the thing sticks to the road like glue and handles extremely well."

Louis C., NY (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"I like it"

Anonymous, GA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

I have yet to face a situation where I could not haul something in the Honda where I could if I had the F150. The Honda is outstanding drive in the city and is a luxury vehicle on the highway. Really pleased with the change."

"Excellent acceleration with amazing fuel economy. Handles like a sports SUV, especially with a load aboard."

Michael N., DE (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"The truck handles well and is easy to drive, but acceleration in the ECONOMY mode suffers. With the ECONOMY mode turned off, there's a lot more power and better acceleration response, but I usually keep the ECONOMY mode turned on all the time, so I forget to turn it off when I need the acceleration."

"Very smooth ride for a truck"

Anonymous, WA (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"seating and ride are the most comfortable I've experienced in a truck. I wasn't sure what i was going to find going to a unibody as I've always hand frame on trucks. I am quite pleased. The 2 Issues i have are winter related and one will cause me not to buy it again. It is the wiper freeze. I consider the loss of visibility an extreme hazard. It is slow to correct and if you need the truck in emergency your screwed. The Canadian models have this corrected. But if your in new York or any border state your out of luck."

"The drivers seat is perfect. It adjusts in many ways to create the ideal seat, and I can drive for many hours per day without fatigue or discomfort. It does not feel like a truck. The engine is so quiet that occasionally I forget it's already running and turn it off instead of starting it. I've had four passengers a few times, and they were amazed at how confident they rode and how much space they had. I'm much more likely to have canine passengers, and the way the rear seats flip up to create space for the dogs is great for giving them a safe place to sleep while they ride."

The torque splitting drive system is unobtrusive and also well suited to my driving situations. I also appreciate its quiet, smooth ride and relatively decent fuel economy."

"To get the sunroof you had to get many other expensive options I do not need and will not use."

Edward C., IL (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"The Honda Ridgeline is a fantastic vehicle which has the utility of a truck and handles like a car. The Ridgeline seems a little expensive for the options that are left out of the lower trim levels. I wish Honda would spread out the options down the line, especially their safety features."

Bradford S., CO (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"The thing IS a pickup truck, with a built in lockable bin in bed. Have used on long trips to keep things safe, and used it as a beverage cooler, and then pulled the drain plug when finished. Car rides nice, good sound system, easy in and out, great access to back seats and lots of room when seats are up. Not a luxury SUV, but it is a great mid-sized truck with good technology for safe driving."

D H., TX (2017 Honda Ridgeline)

"I am on my third windshield in 53000 miles. The first replacement was $1024. due to the eyesight system. Subaru paid for the second replacement as it was only 2 months after the first.
