What Owners Say
"Smooth drive, a truck that drives like a car."
Anonymous, CO (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"excellent - no issues at all"
Anonymous, CT (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"The acceleration is more than adequate for almost all normal driving conditions. Handling is secure for a pickup and in comparison to peers"
Anonymous, AR (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"VS 2012 Tacoma SR5 4 cylinder trade: flatter in turns, better brakes, 280 hp can make it up hills, faster (can pass a truck), front wheel drive traction is outstanding in snow, quiet, smoother ride, tows and hauls slightly better - all this with 27 mpg in daily driving. Had fog lights installed, stock headlights are average. Locking trunk is great in a pickup. Under $30k price is outstanding. Aerodynamics seem best of any pickup. Lots of standard features in a base model, had to order mine. The most American-made pickup truck isn’t Chevy Silverado or Ford F-150. Most US content is the Alabama made Honda Ridgeline. Too bad Honda does not have ads as good as Ford or Chevy."
Anonymous, OH (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Extreme acceleration for passing is not smooth or consistent. Depending on speed, there is a lag time between the time that the accelerator is depressed and actual acceleration."
Anonymous, NC (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Handles like a sedan, not a truck."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"I find that the V6 is a bit sluggish compared to other vehicles, including trucks, that I’ve owned."
Anonymous, AL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"It’s not so much about handling...but the truck NEEDS a lock for the tailgate. I know the ‘trunk’ locks, but if you have a cover on the truck and a larger load that won’t fit in the trunk, you have to go to a secondary market vendor to have a tailgate lock installed yourself. NEED TO GIVE US A LOCKING TAILGATE!"
Anonymous, AL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Only one word... Excellent!"
Sam J., IN (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Handling and acceleration are unremarkable, but very acceptable. I should note that I use the ECO setting almost all the time, which dials back the acceleration a bit."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"The Honda v6 is the smoothest drive train I’ve driven. Effortless passing power with good fuel efficiency. Drives like the Honda Pilot."
Shane D., NS (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"The Ridgeline is very smooth and handles very securely. My wife can also drive it."
Anonymous, IL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Good acceleration for a large vehicle. Handling is smooth."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Good acceleration on highway on ramp. Handles like a car"
Anonymous, MA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"great!"
Anonymous, IL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"You wouldn't know you are in a truck, rides like a very comfortable SUV. Acceleration and handling are superb. In fact, the off-the-line acceleration is excellent for a truck. Passing is quick and without drama. Well done Honda."
Anonymous, GA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Has plenty of "get up". Doesn't ride like a truck"
Larry B., MO (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"very good acceleration & handling. very pleased"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Eco mode saves gas, runs a little rougher, power mode, really gets up and goes. Handles great on rough roads and long drives."
Scott C., CA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Good fuel economy while providing ample power in differing conditions"
Anonymous, TN (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"I've only had the truck since late March, and have relatively low miles on it. I currently drive it in the Econ Mode 100% of the time, so I'm not sure what differences in acceleration there are under 'normal'. I do notice that the acceleration is somewhat lagging, without putting my foot well into it, when adjusting to a change in road slope at 'city' speeds. I'd prefer a bit more responsiveness - so I need to try out of Econ."
Craig T., CO (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Great ride. AWD really helpful on gravel roads and towing. Adaptive cruise control works very well."
Daniel O., CO (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"The Ridgeline has a very comfortable ride. Acceleration is average. Braking is responsive."
Adam M., MN (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Acceleration is great and the handling is too! Very sporty."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Utility of a midsize truck with the ride of a midsize SUV."
Tony P., GA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Very responsive in all respects"
Darlene B., WI (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Drives much like a car with ample power and quick responses to driver inputs. Could take on long trips and enjoy the ride."
Ronald C., NC (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Very snappy, takes speedbumps with great control"
Thomas C., FL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"You can use gas saver button or leave it off for greater acceleration. I use the gas saver and have no problem with acceleration. Handles great on the road."
Thomas B., TX (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Acceleration is good for a truck. Handles nice. Haven't used the all-wheel drive in the snow or dirt yet. Very comfortable drive on the roads."
Anonymous, OR (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Acceleration is very responsive with Econ button in the off position but the mpg drops to about 15. Started using the Econ mode daily and now average 17.6. The truck drives excellent and should be on most city/suburban truck owners shopping list."
Dave C., PA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"This truck surprises me with its ability to tow our 3500 pound Casita Travel Trailer. Very smooth and comfortable."
Edward W., WA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Handles more like a car, very comfortable for long drives"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"The Ridgeline is smooth driving and a pleasure to drive in traffic and on the open road. I believe its handling is better than or equal to the SUVs and Cadillac CTSs we have owned."
Anonymous, AL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Everything about the new Ridgeline is wonderful except for the Audio controls! Of course I paid more to get a RTL-E which has many extra features, but it is worth the cost!!! My wife says we will never get rid of it because she loves it.!"
Anonymous, FL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Very comfortable ride"
Anonymous, MI (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"acceleration is great and smooth handles well (cornering and braking)"
Anonymous, FL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"Steering is light but firm, acceleration is there when needed, cruises with little effort."
Donald P., FL (2018 Honda Ridgeline)"The handling of the Ridgeline is very similar to a sedan, although there is more body roll due to it’s higher profile."
Anonymous, AZ (2018 Honda Ridgeline)
"It handles like a Pilot only better, easily as good as a Mazda CX-9, with the AWD it corners very confidently. It's very quick, or quick enough for me, at sea level. Being non boosted it softens off a bit at altitude but the VTEC helps some. All of this keeping in mind, IT'S a TRUCK."
