With its low, distinctive coupe-like styling and agile handling, the Veloster is an original and innovative design. Based on the subcompact Accent, the Veloster features a unique asymmetrical door layout: A single rear door, on the passenger side, aids rear cabin access. The fun to drive car hits the mark as an affordable sporty coupe, with a willing engine and good shifter feel, and it returned an impressive 31 mpg overall. Its reasonable price and generous equipment level add to the appeal. On the downside, driver visibility is restricted, particularly to the rear; the ride quality is on the rough side; and noise isolation could be improved.
