2011-2013
2011 Redesign Year
With the 2011 redesign, the big Infiniti moved to a new platform. It also became a plush luxury liner with a quiet, well-equipped cabin and a supple, steady ride.
However, its high step-in, ungainly handling, and fuel economy of just 15 mpg overall are detriments. Standard safety features include stability control, traction control, and antilock brakes. Options include blind-spot warning, adaptive cruise control with automatic braking and lane-departure warning. Infiniti changed the QX56 name to QX for 2012 and 2013 model years. The name changed again to QX80 from 2014 onward.

2004-2010
2004 Redesign Year
Infiniti's full-size SUV offers a luxurious interior with navigation as standard equipment. The V8 engine is smooth, powerful, and linked to a slick five-speed automatic transmission.
The QX56 features an independent rear suspension system, and its handling is remarkably responsive for a vehicle this large and tall. However, ride quality is stiff and engine noise is quite pronounced. The interior is spacious, but the third-row seat is small. The 2008 model year brought some updates to the interior.
