CR's Take
This large SUV is Infiniti's version of the Nissan Armada, which is based on the Titan pickup. The roughly $10,000 premium over the Nissan buys a more luxurious interior with a standard navigation system; a DVD entertainment system is optional. The V8 in our tested Armada was smooth and powerful, linked to a slick five-speed automatic. These SUVs feature an independent-rear suspension, and handling was quite responsive for a vehicle this large and tall. The ride was quite stiff and engine noise was pronounced. The interior is spacious, but the third-row seat is small. Direct competitors are the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.
