CR's Take
The QX4 is an upscale version of the Nissan Pathfinder. Its prime selling point used to be its selectable full-time four-wheel-drive system. Now that the Pathfinder LE offers the same system, the QX4's premium sticker is more difficult to justify, despite its more-opulent interior. Modest cargo space and load capacity limit this SUV's usefulness, and the rear seat isn't particularly comfortable. Ride quality deteriorates quickly with passengers aboard, and handling, while secure, isn't all that impressive. The QX4 was replaced by the FX--a contemporary car-based model.
