This version of the Wrangler was introduced in 1997 and it became quite dated. Our Unlimited has a 10-inch wheelbase stretch over the standard model, resulting in more rear-seat room. Its strengths are solely off-road; it may be hard to live with every day. Its thirsty engine performs just adequately, handling is clumsy, and the ride is sloppy.
