What Owners Say
"Camera goes from working to not working. Sometimes the "arrows" on the camera that show you the distance will not work even when the camera is working."
Anonymous, NV (2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 3.6-L V6)"Camera went to black and white; the distance gauge stopped working. This has happened 4-5 times and is intermittent"
Anonymous, GA (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Software update corrected"
Anonymous, (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.6-L V6)"Randomly, the buttons to change to different functions on the display screen become unresponsive until the vehicle is restarted. This makes it impossible to change any of the functions for systems not currently displayed at the time. The unit was replaced once which helped reduce the frequency, but didn't resolve the issue."
Anonymous, MI (2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 3.6-L V6)"This is a well known problem with the radio/display (based on Jeep JL Facebook groups). The software has been upgraded by the service dept, and indeed the system crashes less often now (but still does from time to time)."
Anonymous, NV (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport S 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)"The UConnect Apple/Android head unit makes a "popping" sound, then goes blank and resets the time and electronics. Jeep dealers are unable to fix this and we are tired of bringing it in for service."
Anonymous, (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)"The radio bluetooth interface with my phone has occasional problems. It also had issues when plugged in with a cable. The cable issue was supposedly fixed with a software upgrade, but I really have not used this enough to know if it is fixed."
Anonymous, NV (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport S 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)"The GPS system was unable to identify my correct location. Took it to the dealer and they indicated a software update was needed, but did not have any idea when the software update would be available. I found on a Jeep forum that there was a software update available, so took it back to dealer. They tried the software update and it crashed the system and they were not able to restore it. They ordered a new radio/GPS and replaced the entire unit, which solved the problem."
Anonymous, MN (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 3.6-L V6)"Radio connects with everything. Remote cell control of veh, rear camera, sos safety system. It is the central hub for all electronic services. It went out and was replaced after a 2 mo. Wait for the part. That didn't fix it. 3 months later and a dozen visits to finally find out the manufacturer put the wrong module in the Jeep. Jeep North America was finally involved and they weren't able to diagnose the problem or encourage the dealers to do much. Finally one.dealers mechanic figured it out. Keep did finally pay for a 2 day car rental and for the lost electronic services we paid for. The Jeep was out of service for repairs for a total of 21 days, intermittently."
Anonymous, CO (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 3.6-L V6)"Sometimes there is a loud hum noise, louder than the music. Sometimes there is no volume at all, as if the radio is muted. This seems to happen about every two months."
Anonymous, NJ (2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 3.6-L V6)"The clock on the radio loses time. It was on the 3rd time when I took it to another dealer I found out it is an issue & Jeep does not know why so consequently they have no fix."
Anonymous, (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.6-L V6)"Radio stopped responding"
John K., FL (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 3.6-L V6)"Only plays out of one speaker at times, when using apple car play."
Shane S., NH (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport S 3.6-L V6)"Jeep won't support upgrading their 7" Uconnect system with their 9" Uconnect system, unless you purchase it from the factory that way. If you buy one off the lot, you cannot upgrade it. The upgrade takes 5 minutes to swap out the hardware. You only need a software code to make it work. Jeep/FCA will not support this."
Anonymous, WA (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport S 3.6-L V6)"We were having trouble with the radio/uconnect display unit. The radio would begin cycling through channels and would not respond to the controls. We had to turn the Jeep off to get it to stop. The dealer applied a software update and the problem has not reoccurred."
Anonymous, (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.6-L V6)"There was a major feature (“Off road pages”) missing entirely. It was finally implemented almost a year after purchase."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 3.6-L V6)"On three occasions the radio began scanning stations and became unresponsive to the touch screen. We brought the Jeep to the dealer for service and they performed a software update. The problem has not reoccurred."
John D., NJ (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.6-L V6)"Left front speaker vibrates when people talk on the radio. To remediate, I have to turn off front speakers"
Anonymous, MA (2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Speaker in the lower dash, on the drivers side, has a disturbing and obvious rattle. Even at low volume. It sounds like the speaker is blown or a plastic piece has broken off and fallen in front of the speaker grill."
Anonymous, WA (2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 3.6-L V6)
"Same as the radio which is the central electronic hub."
