What Owners Say
"At 79,000 mi the engine "blew" at expressway speed. Had it towed to Kia. Kia replaced the engine under a recall for reported catastrophic engine failure. Very please with that outcome."
Anonymous A., (2013 Kia Optima SX 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)"Major recall requiring engine replacement- totally inconvenient breakdown and dealership did not replace fluids.....even with recall it cost me $1000 for "new engine kit" and they only paid for rental when part arrives so had to also pay several days of rental."
Anonymous, FL (2013 Kia Optima EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Engine seized and had little oil in despite routine maintenance. Engine had to be replaced. Engine was replaced free of charge (however I had to pay for replacing other components that had metal in them which I was told would have damaged the new engine). Luckilythe class action suit led to the free engine."

""The lower bearing on the cam shaft wore out necessitating replacement. Apparently this is a common problem for these model Kia's because the repair is being covered by the manufacturer. Nevertheless, the car will be at the dealership for about 4 weeks while they obtain parts and complete the repairs.""
