CR's Take
Kia revived the Sportage name in this sister vehicle to the Hyundai Tucson, both of which are based on the Elantra. The base model comes equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and a five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed automatic is optional. The 2.7-liter V6 model is priced below or on par with the four-cylinder versions from competitors. It is very similar to the Hyundai Tucson other than interior and exterior styling details, and slight suspension tuning differences. ABS, stability control, and head-protection side-curtain air bags are all standard.
