While past versions of the GS midsized luxury sedan struggled to reconcile the brand's trademark isolating plushness with the fun-to-drive verve found in competing class leaders such as the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class, the current GS pulls it off. Engaging to drive yet with a supple ride, it's roughly on the same page as its German competition.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"The parking assist is excellent and accurate. The collision avoidance system while in cruise control is very responsive and avoids on again, off again cruise control when in heavy hi speed traffic. It has a steering wheel shaker when you inadvertently leave your lane, really nice. I'm most impressed with the rapid acceleration from start, I've always had a V8 and this vehicle exceeds that."

JOE L., GA (2016 Lexus GS)

"Love the way it handles. So much better than the es which I previously had. Gas mileage too low"

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"I bought the car because it has the feature that extends the size of the driver seat. Excellent."

"good back support"

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Car is overpriced for what you get. If Toyota had an all wheel drive sedan I would switch. Car has a good ride and exceleration but does Toyota. Lexus does not provide maintenance for its high price whereas Toyota does include maintenance."

Anonymous, NY (2016 Lexus GS)

"The MSRP for this car was $50,000 and it doesn't have, leather seats, heated or cooled seats. At this price those items are to be expected. I've owned 6 Lexus vehicles and this may be the last because of the lack of standard equipment."

KEVIN S., FL (2016 Lexus GS)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"Hate the black interior. Shows every speck of dust"

Percentage of owners who would definitely purchase that same vehicle again. Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?". If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
