High points of this version of the Lexus IS include eye-catching styling and a silky smooth V6 . Performance is rather pokey though. We originally tested the 2.5-liter V6 version, which delivered just 21 mpg overall. Beginning with the 2016 model year, the 2.5-liter was replaced by a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and fitted to a new trim line: IS 200t.

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for about 420,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2019 vehicles are holding up in 17 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical system. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.

Anonymous, FL (2014 Lexus IS 250 2.5-L V6)
Display screen freezes up

"The radio stations display on the infotainment screen and when trying the change the station using either the "mouse" or the steering wheel buttons the screen "jams" consistently (at least once a day) and you cannot change the radio station"

Sharon B., MD (2014 Lexus IS 250 Unsure)

"Display screen freezes, the only fix is to turn off ignition and restart. The system also rebooted on it own several times. Sytem software was updated at one year service and hasn't returned"

Marty B., NV (2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport 3.5-L V6)

"Sometimes the display will go blank and radio controls will not allow to change stations. I need to stop car, turn off the car and restart"

Anonymous, CA (2014 Lexus IS 250 2.5-L V6)

"Screen would freeze mainly during navigation. Screen would also lose functions and zoom all the way out on its own at times"

"system would re-boot or freeze at random"

Robert L., ON (2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport 3.5-L V6)

"Infotainment system failed continually"

Anonymous, VA (2014 Lexus IS 250 3.5-L V6)

Thomas K., FL (2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport 2.5-L V6)

"Display screen would go blank for no reason while driving. It took Lexus about a year after I started complaining to admit there was a problem. They replaced a computer chip, the problem seems to be solved"

David A., NM (2014 Lexus IS 350 3.5-L V6)

"system would go blank, re-boot or freeze"

Robert L., ON (2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport 3.5-L V6)

"same as previous problem"

Anonymous, AL (2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport 3.5-L V6)

Marty B., NV (2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport 3.5-L V6)

"traffic info is unreliable. navigation can't direct around traffic since info is wrong. sometimes doesn't recognize where i am. Cant subscribe to satellite traffic. only able to get their faulty traffic. HORRIBLE!"
