"Started on a cross country trip. ~20% failure to locate destination. I was told I'm "not eligible" to add Car Play which would solve my problem. My car was manufactured in Feb. 2019 and the same model made BEFORE mine and after mine were eligible for that upgrade. I have tried multiple times to find out why my car is "not Eligible". I've tried to contact Lexus main office to no avail. If I had known, 1) the GPS was so bad and 2) I could have waited a few months to get the Car Play I would have waited. The absurdity is I can find in my software where Car Play is noted as "on" but still not available. I love the car but I feel that something is not being told to me and feel badly abused by the company. I was told there might be an after market cure and was told by several advisors that they would look for a solution but I have heard nothing back from them. These are local folks who are employees so I don't lay any blame on them. But I do feel that Lexus' design team should completely overhaul their electronics. I consider their system completely unusable as you must look away from the road to use it. Functions should all be available on the steering wheel or voice activated. This is one of the plus items with Car Play. I do use the voice activated GPS but it often fails. I feel it would be imperative for the company to deal with this problem. At this point I could only give a partial recommendation, say 70% , to anyone who asks me."

But we still had many disappointments. After buying the car we went on a 10009 mile cross country trip. I had 2 sessions with the Lexus specialist and that helped a lot but I still had to call him several times on the road for help. The printed manual is very difficult to understand and implement. If I had to buy again I would, certainly, look at other competitors. I did not look further as we liked our older 2007 model. It began to have cylinder-coil problems. It did have 180,000+ miles on it. But I didn't want to get on the road with an unreliable vehicle. Other than that I very much like the car."
