The Mazda2 is a subcompact hatchback about the size of the Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris. Only the five-door version was sold here. Power comes from a 100-hp, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. A slick-shifting five-speed manual transmission is standard. A four-speed automatic is optional, but it saps some power. Handling is quite nimble, and the ride is tolerable, but the cabin is noisy.

Rear-seat room is relatively good given the size of the car. It is related to the Ford Fiesta, but it trades some refinement and comfort in order to sell at a lower price. 2014 was the last year for the Mazda2.
