Overview
As part of its effort to build a parallel line of pure battery-electric vehicles, Mercedes-Benz is introducing the EQB. It’s a conventional compact SUV with an optional third-row seat that is essentially an electric version of the gasoline-powered GLB. There are minor differences, though: Aside from being electric, the EQB is a little longer than its internal combustion fraternal twin.
The EQB joins the growing Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle offerings in two all-wheel drive trims, the EQB 300 4Matic, and the more powerful EQB 350 4Matic. A front-wheel drive version the 250+ is offered starting from 2023.
Here is what we know so far. It competes with the Audi Q4 E-Tron, Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID.4, and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
