Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback EV

Mitsubishi’s first electric vehicle since the humble i-MiEV of the 2010s is the Eclipse Sportback, a gentle refresh of the third-generation Nissan Leaf. Power comes from a single 214-hp electric motor on the front axle, which is fed by a 75-kilowatt-hour battery. This powertrain offers up to 282 miles of driving range, per Mitsubishi. Like the Leaf, the Eclipse Sportback features two charge ports--one Tesla-style North American Charging Standard port for DC fast charging and one J1772 port for slower AC charging, such as on a home charger. Its 150-kilowatt maximum fast-charging speed is nowhere near the highest speeds offered by public chargers today, but we found it livable enough in the Leaf. Mitsubishi claims the Eclipse Sportback can add up to 85 miles of range in 10 minutes with a compatible fast-charger.
