Road Test

Despite its curves, the Eclipse is unexciting to drive. It lacks agility and quickness, two critical ingredients of a sporty car. While the Eclipse also has a cramped and uncomfortable cabin, at least its hatchback design offers some cargo-carrying versatility. The four-cylinder engine in our tested GS model provides moderate performance, but the GT's V6 is much quicker and quieter. The stiff ride doesn't translate into sporty handling, however. The Eclipse was discontinued for 2013.
