Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2015 Nissan Frontier owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

What Owners Say

Backup or other camera/sensors

"Camera stops working on occasion"

Anonymous A., VA (2015 Nissan Frontier SL 4.0-L V6)
Display screen goes blank

""Only happened a few times, I reset power and it comes back on""

Anonymous A., VA (2015 Nissan Frontier SL 4.0-L V6)

Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

What Owners Say

Problem(s) fueling the tank

""Some kind of sensor went bad, preventing fuel from being loaded. Pump would shut off immediately when fueling. Long, sorry story involving multiple misdiagnoses by mechanic""

Anonymous, WA (2015 Nissan Frontier SV 4.0-L V6)

Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

What Owners Say

Tailgate, hatch or trunk

"The hinges that connect the tailgate to the truck are weak. They ultimately deformed and sagged which put too much weight on the welded area that holds on the taillights. Eventually the damn tailgate had to come off or it was just going to fall off. This happened even though I replaced the hinges several times with oem parts. Later, the welded joints were so weakened that the taillights fell off, or were dangling by the wires. I've been through 3 sets of replacement taillights and judging from the number of vendors on Amazon, I'm not alone. The entire back end has been one problem after another."

Anonymous A., CA (2015 Nissan Frontier SV 4.0-L V6)
