This version of the Pathfinder was a relatively old SUV, but it does offer a third-row seat. Strengths include a versatile interior and a V6 engine that's stronger than some competitors' V8s. Independent rear suspension contributes to responsive handling, but the Pathfinder rides stiffly. Second- and third-row seats are tight for adults. A rear-view camera is optional. Side- and curtain-airbags are standard.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Excellent value for price. It's a "horse" and we love it. However recent styling of this model is a major turnoff"

"Very disappointed in poor fuel economy."

JENNIFER P., MT (2012 Nissan Pathfinder)

"The 2012 Pathfinder I purchased new has never been back to the dealer for any problems. It is extremely reliable and I've never had any repair issues to date. This vehicle was a good value and assembly quality is very good. The 2012 Pathfinder has an excellent combination of two features that I consider important. It is a good on the highway for long trips (600 miles per day) and it is extremely good "off road" on rough logging trails and on rocky mountain roads that we use to get to our fami"

ROBERT S., NY (2012 Nissan Pathfinder)
