The Sentra is a pleasant small sedan in everyday driving. It has a comfortable ride, a quiet cabin, a roomy backseat, and a well-designed interior. But we found the Sentra tricky to control in a simulated emergency maneuver, as it had a tendency to lose grip too easily and slide. Braking was also unimpressive.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"A helleva lot better than my previous car."

Anonymous, ID (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"While the engine is quick to spool up, the transmission is where everything goes to die with this car. The CVT is plain sluggish and unresponsive at the best of times."

Matt F., WI (2010 Nissan Sentra)

GARY B., MN (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"I have had multiple instances when I have driven to area which required acceleration due to elevation. On MULTIPLE occasions the car was not able to not only retain acceleration, but the acceleration decreased; consequently, the car could only retain a rate of 15-20 mph. This mph rate was very concerning, especially since the issues occurred in an area of road where it is isolated, and in an uphill incline. Note must be taken that the first time this problem occurred, I was told it was a fluke,"

PETRA C., AZ (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"(Disappointed).- Acceleration, in my opinion below average. (GOOD).- Overall a good car. It will take you from point A to point B (not speedster though) ."

Anonymous, CA (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"Plenty of power"

Anonymous, KY (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"Before we had this 2010 model we had a 2000 model. The 2000 model had a 1.8 Liter and this one has a 2.0 Liter. It is a major improvement on acceleration and abilities to go up steep hills. Like most CVT's it does not accelerate as well as a regular automatic but it holds its own."

J W., OH (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"Acceleration is extremely slow."

Anonymous, TX (2010 Nissan Sentra)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"getting very loud from door noise and underneaty noise"

Anonymous, AZ (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"It's not made for tall people. Not very comfortable, not good adjustment mechanism."

Anonymous, NY (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"hard riding on rough roads"

Anonymous, NY (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"I find the ride very rough compared to the Altima and the road noise is loudere than the altima"

Anonymous, ON (2010 Nissan Sentra)

Anonymous, GA (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"The seats are very comfortable to sit on. I am 6' 2" tall and I find the driving position to be less than desirable. I find if I have the seats positioned all the way back then it is a long reach to the steering wheel. My wife is 4' 10" tall and driving position is perfect for her. Climate controls are easy to use and work well. Road noise is average for most cars and I find the ride is fair except for anything other than a smooth road pavement. You can feel road imperfections."

J W., OH (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"climate control good"

JORGE G., FL (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"The driver's seat is not very comfortable. The a/c vents don't send the air in the right direction. The heat is okay but not great. And I really don't like the side mirrors. No matter how they are adjusted, it's just not good."

Anonymous, NY (2010 Nissan Sentra)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Hasn't held value very well, but don't plan on replacing anytime soon."

VINCENT L., PA (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"It was not a good price of $16,000 to pay in 2013."

Anonymous, FL (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"Dont know yet,not enough time since I bought it !!"

JORGE G., FL (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"It is a good mid priced car."

VENITA L., CO (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"Feel we are paying too much, incluse two other cars for trade-in. Had to buy new battery within 2 weeks after purchase."

AMANDA W., FL (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"We got this vehicle because it was a Nissan and was supposed to be a great car. It's been a mediocre car with pretty good mpg. Next time we will get a Toyota Corolla instead."

Anonymous, KY (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"I have had no major problems with this car. The only thing I've replaced are things that wear out such as breaks. It is very reliable. It handles well on the road and gets great gas mileage. this is a great car for an older woman who knows little about cars--I can trust it."

BONNIE H., SC (2010 Nissan Sentra)

"Got a really good deal on this car when bought brand new."

Anonymous, TX (2010 Nissan Sentra)
