The Sentra is a pleasant small sedan in everyday driving. It has a comfortable ride, a quiet cabin, a roomy backseat, and a well-designed interior. But we found the Sentra tricky to control in a simulated emergency maneuver, as it had a tendency to lose grip too easily and slide. Braking was also unimpressive.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

MICHAEL H., AZ (2011 Nissan Sentra)

"-Acceleration is surprisingly good--unless you have the AC running -Transmission lags between 2nd and 3rd gears--usually at worst possible times such as accelerating uphill or while merging into highway traffic. The only way around this is to floor the accelerator pedal. Then, the acceleration is a bit overly aggressive. -Road noise is bothersome on extended trips. -Winter driving is HORRIBLE--NOT RECOMMENDED AS PRIMARY VEHICLE in anything but the lightest of snow or sleet and then ONLY if roads"

If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
