Considering the advanced state of automotive engineering these days, there is a solid argument to be made that there are no bad cars anymore. Indeed, the automotive world has weeded out most of the truly lousy performers. But that doesn't mean that there aren't any current models that would be pretty bad choices, given the clear superiority of other options. Which brings us to the Nissan Sentra.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Owner Satisfaction with:

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"The turbo in this model vastly improves the low power of the standard Sentra. I previously had an Altima 2013 that was just too big for me compared to the 2007 Previous Altima, so I switched to the 2017 Sentra. I felt at home immediately. The sharp turn radius is super."

Kathleen B., NY (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"The acceleration is not what I have been use to on past Nissans but at the same time I probably got what I paid for,"

Anonymous, CT (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"The 1.6 turbo is very smooth, it pulls like a six cylinder. The boost is quite potent when needed. I have never had a CVT before, but the Sentra CVT behaves like a traditional gear transmission with simulated shifts. I like also how it 'gears' down when going down a steep hill. The car gets better mileage as it breaks in. I received 5.1 l/100 the other day driving to work in a mix of freeway and streets."

Ken Z., BC (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"Very responsive"

Burdell S., IN (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"I purchased the SR TURBO PREMUIM trim level, which includes every option available. To have so much for basically so little more was why I bought this vehicle. When the Sport mode is engaged, it is a totally different car and still puts a smile on my face almost one year later."

Anonymous, ON (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"in cool weather there may be some engine lag while accelerating."

Anonymous, FL (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"the pick up is great even in the power saving mode and even with other people in the car"

Robert P., VA (2017 Nissan Sentra)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Very good had 13 cvt like 6 speed alot better"

Odie C., TN (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"Seats at 7 ride comfortable on a long trip."

D O., OH (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"There could be better back support."

Anonymous, CT (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"While reviews say the comfort is not that good, if you adjust the seat to how you like it, the comfort is not that bad."

Geoffrey P., FL (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"Reasonably comfortable. There is some suspension noise."

Anonymous, PR (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"I tried many autos for fit since I am 48 inches tall. This is the only one that lets me see over the dashboard without a pillow under me. I love its turn radius, seat support and lack of rattles."

Kathleen B., NY (2017 Nissan Sentra)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"For its money- the winner."

Heorhi K., MD (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"Great value for the money."

Juan S., FL (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"We purchase the Sentra SR Turbo at an excellent purchase price. This was the 4th purchase from this dealer. Dealer provides service and does not up sale services"

D O., OH (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"Easy to drive and manover"

Burdell S., IN (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"Very little maintaince expenses.Great gas mileage, and styling"

Anonymous, NJ (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"large interior"

Anonymous, FL (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"The Sentra is a good basic car. Nothing special but it gets the job done and does it well enough. We bought it because we felt it gave us what we felt was good value. However we have been spoiled with more bells and whistles on previous cars such as heated seat and remote start. We miss them."

Arthur M., NY (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"Got a great car foe way less than most other cars cost"

Robert P., VA (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"The Nissan Sentra is quite a bit less expensive than other cars in its class. However, I recommend purchasing the extended warranty when you buy this car. This is based on the poor reliability of two previous Nissans. One required a new engine and the other a new CVT tranmisson; both at ~60K miles."

Ken H., CA (2017 Nissan Sentra)

"During the months of July & August, Nissan Canada offers a list of cost savings promotions. When you add them all up, it is amazing!!!"

Percentage of owners who would definitely purchase that same vehicle again. Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?". If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
