Pontiac Bonneville

EPA MPG: NA

CR's Take
Pontiac's large flagship sedan packs a wealth of gadgets, particularly in the top-of-the-line GXP, which features GM's smooth Northstar V8. The old-tech 3.8-liter, pushrod V6 engine performs adequately but handling is not exactly sporty. The SE version we tested had a supple, controlled ride, but wind noise was pronounced. Inside, the climate-control system works well, but its eight vents are a chore to fuss with. The seat-mounted shoulder belts may be uncomfortable for some drivers. We found that the rear seat was too low and too soft. The Bonneville has been discontinued.
