The redesigned 911 stays with basically the same iconic shape, while delivering more power and better fuel economy. The base model gets a 350-hp, 3.4-liter six, while the Carrera S uses a 400-hp, 3.8-liter six, both matched with a seven-speed manual. Measures to help with fuel efficiency include shut-off at idle and electric power steering.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

"Acceleration and handling have always been a trait for this brand of automobile."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Porsche 911)

"Sublime handling, awesome experience every time you drive"

Anonymous, VA (2013 Porsche 911)

"The acceleration, braking, road handling in the Carrera 4S is hard to imagine until you experience it for yourself. It can make even the most ham fisted driver look good and a even skilled driver can not match the cars overall capabilities. This car handles in very mountainous conditions as if it is on rails. It goes exactly where you point it no matter what the conditions."

John W., GA (2013 Porsche 911)

"it's awesome"

Anonymous, FL (2013 Porsche 911)

"The vehicle stops quickly without effort (I fear being rear-ended much more than not being able to slow/stop the car in time) and accelerates like a dream to pass another car or to avoid a situation. There has never been a time when I have not felt that the car can do whatever is necessary to drive safely and defensively"

Anonymous, MD (2013 Porsche 911)

"Excellent handling, very stable in corners, more HP than I need"

Anonymous, CA (2013 Porsche 911)

"Does not get any better than a 911."

Bill R., NC (2013 Porsche 911)

"Drives beautifully, it is such a high performing drive!"

Anonymous, AZ (2013 Porsche 911)

"It is my fourth portion, and all have been wonderful, it’s only a degree of how wonderful it is. This is the best one yet"

Warren G., TX (2013 Porsche 911)

"It tracks so well, turns easily and has very good power for passing"

Anonymous, AB (2013 Porsche 911)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Seats and interior room outstanding for 6'5" driver Ride is perfect compromise for touring and sport driving Noise as a convertible very tolerable"

Bill B., CA (2013 Porsche 911)

"Very noisy and bumpy ride on in town roads. The dash has squeaks and rubs noises."

Anonymous, AZ (2013 Porsche 911)

"The only critique regarding the 2013 Porsche 911 is the seat comfort. While this model has slightly more leg room than previous years which an absolute plus, seat comfort is lacking. I am 6’1‿, 205 Ibs. and the seat does not fit well across the shoulders. I’ve had smaller drivers test the seat for comfort and it appears the optimal sized driver for this seat would be about 5’10‿ 160 lbs."

John W., GA (2013 Porsche 911)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"Well, the Porsche 991S is a beautiful example of a sports car, but when you buy a Porsche, it's "ala cart" and very few items are included. This is a major drawback when buying a Porsche. It's disappointing that, for the price you pay, you must choose among a host of items embedded in complex expensive options--much like signing up with, say, Comcast; i.e., bundling of services and products--Yuke!"

Anonymous, FL (2013 Porsche 911)

"I have never owned a car that received more compliments! Whether I am at a back road gas station, a restaurant, or grocery store people come up and say they admire the car. The styling of the convertible, with a top that blends into the lines of the car just as if it were a coupe, is wonderful."

BRIAN G., TX (2013 Porsche 911)
