Looking for a true workhorse? Look no further than the Ram 2500. This big heavy-duty (HD) truck enjoys the same improvements that the Ram 1500 benefited from over the last few years. Namely, the coil-spring rear suspension delivers a ride that is a bit more civilized than those of competing heavy-duty trucks. The Ram also benefits from an easy-to-use infotainment system.

What Owners Say

"Amazing for a truck this size. It is our 3rd Dodge Ram since 1997--each one has had more power. This one is awesome and rides better both with and without a trailer, Much quieter than our previous 2003 truck."

Anonymous, OR (2017 Ram 2500)

"You are not asking the right questions about Heavy Duty Trucks. They are designed for towing and hauling. The RAM with the Cummins is excellent when towing and hauling. The fuel economy only drops 1-2 mpg when towing a trimaran. The ride significantly improves with 1000 lbs in the bed. The tight turning radius, compared to Ford, GM and Nissan, is useful when backing trailers and negeoiating tight area's"

W B., TX (2017 Ram 2500)

"This truck is heavy and is a 3/4 ton. The engine has decent power, but not near enough in my opinion for this vehicle .... especially when towing. The engine produces most of it power in the mid to upper rpm ranges which make it rev high when under a load. I would suggest about 50-75 more horsepower and at least 100 lb. ft. of extra torque. The transmission shifts a little too soft also which makes the power drop off between shifts. For a gasoline motor in this truck it would be nice to see about 475-500 HP and 500-550 lbs of torque. This should be no problem with today's technology."

George G., TN (2017 Ram 2500)

"Very powerful and very stable on the road, especially towing."

Anonymous, AZ (2017 Ram 2500)

"The engine is quiet for a diesel and handles towing and loading extremely well. Steering is very good for such a large vehicle."

Anonymous, MO (2017 Ram 2500)

"it has a lot of power, pulling a 28 ft boat like it was not there"

Anonymous, NC (2017 Ram 2500)

"There are some small electrical issues that cause concern. The USB plug in the front doesn’t work and the plug in the bed for plugging a trailer in doesn’t work. Neither has and by the time we found out the warranty had expired."

Steve W., VA (2017 Ram 2500)

"The Ram 2500 has sufficient power and handling to tow a travel trailer in mountainous terrain."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Ram 2500)

"This diesel has amazing power. I can take my 5th wheel over a steep mountain pass without slowing down and still have plenty of pedal left."

Charles S., CA (2017 Ram 2500)

"This truck has excellent acceleration and pulling power. tows like a dream. This is my first diesel and I will never go back to a non-diesel in a pick up truck. I pull a fifth wheel trailer with this truck, and use it as my daily driver. I also very much enjoyed the Bluetooth connection with my phone."

Bryan B., TX (2017 Ram 2500)

"I really like the Rams ability to tow. More then enough power provided by the Cummins Diesel engine. Good MPG when not towing. Handles well for a 3/4 ton truck, albeit a hard ride."

Anonymous, OH (2017 Ram 2500)

"Easy to handle in all tasks has enough pep to accelrate on and off the freeway"

Barbara S., TX (2017 Ram 2500)

"The diesel does it's job very well when towing my 12,000 5th wheel and the fuel mileage is very good when towing also."

Anonymous, OR (2017 Ram 2500)

"It has incredible power and acceleration and for a diesel it is very quiet. I use it mainly to tow my RV trailer and it is outstanding with good acceleration and solid braking as needed."

Anonymous, CO (2017 Ram 2500)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"The 2017 Ram 2500 is very quiet and comfortable. More so than many sedans I've ridden in."

Anonymous, AR (2017 Ram 2500)

"The vehicle is new so comments are based on the few miles driven thus far. The vehicle is absolutely the quietest truck I have ever owned. Seats are comfortable, entertainment system performs well, and the Bluetooth works well ."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Ram 2500)

"Great value for the Tradesman model and equipped with the most desirable upgrades. Great fuel mileage for a diesel and handles very well."

Anonymous, UT (2017 Ram 2500)

"The interior comfort of the RAM is excellent. The A/C especially the ventilated seat is outstanding and loved during summer in Houston. The ride comfort is good for a heavy duty truck but buyers should consider the air suspension."

W B., TX (2017 Ram 2500)

"The seats are very comfortable and it's quiet and drives like a dream."

Anonymous, AZ (2017 Ram 2500)

"Comport and confidence"

Joe S., FL (2017 Ram 2500)

"It is a 2500 for towing our camper, it has a bumpy ride"

Roger K., WI (2017 Ram 2500)

"For a large truck that came lifted with with off-road capable tires it has a very smooth ride with a quiet cabin,"

Barbara S., TX (2017 Ram 2500)

"A little noisy, too much room in front seats"

Anonymous, PA (2017 Ram 2500)

"Seats are cloth and pretty comfortable. They do get warm and even though this is a work truck model, a lumbar support would be very nice (even a manual one)."

George G., TN (2017 Ram 2500)

"For a heavy duty truck., The ride is very good and absorbs bumps well."

Anonymous, OR (2017 Ram 2500)

Value

What Owners Say

"MSRP on the full size Ram trucks is absurd. SHOP to get value on your $$."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Ram 2500)

"all trucks are expensive"

Anonymous, MT (2017 Ram 2500)

"We love the Ram! Smooth ride, ease of navigation system, voice commands recognized. Love the styling inside and out! Great truck! Pulls trailer with ease!"

Martha A., CA (2017 Ram 2500)

"Paid about a third of the normal cost to get the undercoating, and interior and exterior protection applied at dealership (Heritige Auto Group Utah). For the low end model it came equipped with many features not available on Toyota, Nissan, Ford, and Government Motors Corp."

Anonymous, UT (2017 Ram 2500)

"Great acceleration, quiet driving and pulls rv with ease"

Anonymous, CA (2017 Ram 2500)

"It’s a powerful truck that does the job. Plus it’s fairly comfortable for a truck."

Steve W., VA (2017 Ram 2500)

"The Ram was purchased to tow a travel trailer. With respect to towing capacity a base Ram 2500 is a better value than an optioned up Ram 1500."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Ram 2500)
