Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

What Owners Say

"I can pull my 11000 lbs. 5th wheel with ease. Also great value for the money. Check all brands and RAM couldn't be beat for the best engine (Cummins)."

John S., MD (2012 Ram 3500)

"The Cummins turbo diesel is surprising fast and powerful. When carrying a load, the ride becomes very smooth and comfortable, and you cannot tell it is hauling anything due to the power of the diesel. Very nice ride for pulling an RV long distances."

Anonymous, WA (2012 Ram 3500)

"Plenty of power"

WILLIAM W., ND (2012 Ram 3500)

"good steer feel,very powerful engine"

Anonymous, LA (2012 Ram 3500)

"This truck has a Cummins Turbo diesel that can accelerate to and beyond freeway speeds even under loads including a car carrier during long uphill pulls along I-70 and I-68 in Maryland. Not necessarily a fuel efficient "Smart Car" type of truck, but then, I bought this truck to perform as a truck, not a high mileage SUV for "Soccer Moms.""

DAVID K., PA (2012 Ram 3500)

What Owners Say

"02 sensor breakdown and require replacement on average 1x per year. First years everything is covered under warranty, but after that you are on your own. Seems to be a known problem with this truck. You expect that the manufacturer would try to solve the actual problem and not just repair the problem. Poor show for a car of over $ 80,000"

Robert V., BC (2012 Ram 3500)

"The power is fantastic. I can pull my 11000 lbs. 5th wheel with ease. Also great value for the money. Check all brands and RAM couldn't be beat. Best engine (Cummins) and little things like the wheel-well covers in rear, wide opening for rear doors."

John S., MD (2012 Ram 3500)

"It is a $60k vehicle and the front end feels like it is going to fall apart. Acceleration while towing is mediocre at best. My old Duramax was 100 times better. It is a good looking truck and has a nicer interior than the GM product. that is it."

RICH P., CO (2012 Ram 3500)

Percentage of owners who would definitely purchase that same vehicle again. Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?". If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
