This version of the VUE provides ample interior space and a new Honda-made engine, which is quicker, quieter, and more fuel-efficient than the previous model’s powerplant.
Still though, overall, the VUE does not compete well with the better SUVs in the class. It’s plagued by substandard interior fit and finish, and poor material quality. (The interior was upgraded and improved for 2006.)
Drivers found the cabin noisy and the seats very uncomfortable. On the road, the VUE has a stiff, uncomfortable ride, uncommunicative steering, and a slow-to-react all-wheel-drive system.
The VUE also received a Poor in the IIHS side-crash test. A tip-up in government rollover tests is another cause for concern.
